The room was quiet and the clicks and clacks of hands on a keyboard filled the once silent room. Sibil was sitting on his bed with his laptop in his lap. He was studying for his exams while he still had time. His head suddenly started to pound. He quickly put his laptop down and reached to his bedside to get the pills that his mom gave him. He always wondered how his mom knew what to do about these things but never asked. He quickly swallowed the pills and laid down on his head looking at his ceiling. He slowly felt his headache subside into something bearable. He quickly sat back up to resume his studying.
"Sibilance! Sibilance!" Called his mother. Sibils' mother, her name is Fae John. She is usually know by the people in the town as Tyrant Fae or Ty Fae for short. Sibil doesn't know how or why but the people at the Mall started treating his mother with more respect after that. Sibil sighed and sat his laptop to the side as he walked out of his room. His hair was a clear mess as it was a curly mess and he didn't feel like doing anything with it. He put his hair in a quick bun as he walked down the stairs. He rounded the corner to the kitchen to see his mother sitting at the end of the table looking at him with an unreadable expression. Sibil felt his body slip into his flight or flight instincts. The only time his mother expressions were unreadable was when things usually went wrong.
"Mom?" Asked Sibil with practiced ease as he also slipped into an unreasonable expression. His mother just smiled as she said "Your uncle has called me and notified me that he'll be takin' you to a place or your families history."
As Sibils' mother finished talking he was very confused. His mother usually slipped into an unreadable expression when it is usually something important or dangerous. Sibil was about to open his mouth to give his mother an excuse as to why he wouldn't be able to go when his mother interupted him before he could. "This is something that will be NON-negotiable."
Sibil opened his mouth to say something to only be interupted by his mother with a stearn look. Sibil looked at his mom openly shocked. If something like his family history was so important for mom to be this serious about it, it must be important. "Mooom, Is there a reason I'm going with Uncle? I mean..." Sibil let his sentence trail off as he twiddled with his fingers under his mother's disturbing stare. His mother seemed to sigh as she leaned back in her chair.
"Your 15, that means your getting your family inheritance. Your going to need to learn the weight of your last name and why no one in our family ever uses it." His mother said that with such seriousness that it made goose bumps appear on his arms. They reason he couldn't tell anyone his last name has been a big question in his life for years and he will finally find out? Sounds a little too easy. Sibil was about to say something as he was interupted again.
"Your friends called and said that they're going to be over here to pick you up. Also you need to start cleaning up after yourself better!" The last sentence made Sibil look at his mom in confusion as she continued.
"I know it normal for boys your age but I'm tired of your sheets looking like a-"
"Moooom!" Whined Sibil as he mom smiled at him and his embarrassment. She just got up and said "Your uncle will be over tonight and bring you back tomorrow."
Sibil sent his mom a gentle smile as she walked off to work. Sibil shook his head as he pinched the bridge of his nose as he realized he was going to have to deal with his moronic "friends" today. He sighed loudly as he got up to quickly put on his shoes. He didn't even bother to do anything else to his hair on the way. He was halfway back down the stairs when the doorbell rang. He slowly walked over to the door as the ringing got more persistent. He opened the door and saw Fabian Green and Diana Hoover. Two of the strongest pains in his ass for years. Diana was a very arrogant girl that couldn't believe that she was truly wrong with anything she decided she had a clear answer for. Her parents didn't help with that either. They usually made her more arrogant. With the ways the cheer her on when sch gets things right and just makes her get a bigger ego. Fabian wasn't any better he was a very quick person to judge and turn his back on you without a second thought. Fabian was the type of person to stab you in the back just because he felt like you weren't useful to him anymore or weren't worth his time at the moment. Sibil shook his head as he looked at the two people that considered him a "friend"...ha! more like a useful tool or slave.
