I am completely alright

Keep looking at me like that and I swear that that moment will be my last.

Peter's POV-

"How did it go yesterday?" Ned brought me out of my daze.

"It was fine, I guess." I had not stopped thinking about how beautiful (y/n) had looked in my jacket. Neither had I stopped thinking about the kiss and, even though it was just a peck on the cheek, it still left me smiling and craving for more.

Shut it, Parker! She isn't yours to keep. But again, she was single so why not give it a try? Really, Peter? And you think that it'll work? It would have worked, if only she knew that I was Spiderman.

But then, (y/n) didn't seem the type to give in to someone just because they were the city's protector or a Super Hero. I halted in front of my locker, turning the key and took out my English books, closing it back with a slight 'thud'.

Just as I was about to leave for class, I saw Liz walking towards me, her heels clicking on the floor in the process. She looked pretty in her white floral top and black skinny jeans, making (y/n) leave my thoughts for that moment.

Don't mess this up, Parker.

"Hey, Peter," she smiled. She was standing a breath's length away from me and it took all my confidence away, leaving me the stuttering mess I usually am.

"H-hey L-Liz." The smile held onto her lips, broadening even more if I wasn't wrong.

"Can you help me with the Chemistry project? I wasn't there in class yesterday and missed out on it," her voice was gentle as her eyes locked with mine, hope rising in their volcanoes.

"Um-sure! I'd love to. When do we uh-start on it?" My excitement must have been too obvious as it left Liz giggling.

"In chemistry? Ms. Margotte isn't here apparently and the class would be substituted."

"Okay, I'll reserve you a seat." She smiled at me before waving and walking off to her class. I walked to English, the rising heat much too visible on my cheeks.

Time Skip to Chemistry-

(y/n)'s POV-

"And he was so cute to offer me his jacket and I couldn't help but kiss his cheek," I squealed a little too much for my normal stature. MJ couldn't help, but gag and roll her eyes at me.

"Just date already! It's too obvious the both of you have feelings for each other," she gave me another eye roll as my eyes widened in shock and I shook my head vigorously.

"No way in hell is that happening! I don't have feelings for Peter Parker!" We had stopped in front of our Chemistry class, the door being shut so nobody could hear our conversation.

"Suit yourself, (y/n)," MJ said as she opened the door and we walked in. The minute I stepped inside, my eyes averted to finding Peter's and when they locked on him, he quickly looked up and sent me a heartwarming smile. I slowly walked towards my usual place, beside Peter. But it took me by  shock as he halted my movements and simply said,

"The seat's taken for Liz. We have substitution and she wants my help on the project. Sorry, (y/n)." I simply nodded and gave him one last sad smile as I walked over to the other side of the class and sat down next to Ned, who was evidently glancing between Peter and I.

"You okay?" He asked, loud enough for only me to hear.

"Yeah. What could be wrong, anyway?" I forced a smile at him, but he didn't seem to buy it.

"(y/n) I know you and I can figure out something isn't right with you. Wanna talk about it?" He kindly offered.

"Nothing's wrong, Ned. I'm fine, I promise." It was really hard to put on the fake façade of 'I am chill and not bothered about anything', but at the moment I couldn't thank myself for putting it on so perfectly that it almost looked real.
