Sonic's P.O.V.
It didn't last long...

"Mommy..." Noah hugged my leg and Lea held my hand. "Mommy... I'm scared... No..." He sobbed.

"Come on. I promise it's not scary. I'll be there to protect the three of you." Shadow said softly to Noah and Lea. It had been nearly a year and a half. We've had trouble at the castle and all of my friends knew about the pups and about me and Shadow.

"B-but what if that scary man comes again...?" Lea said at the edge of crying.

"'That scary man'?" Shadow asked then looked up at me and I shrugged.

"Yes... He's come every night since forever, just when you and mommy are asleep. He says he is going to get you one day. He is scary..." She whimpered making me pin my ears down.

"Lea... Sweetie... How does this man look? Why didn't you say anything before?" I asked concerned.

He's known...

"Because he says that you will be mad at us." Noah said.

"Have you seen this man too?" Shadow asked, with his ears pinned down as well. "Has he gotten close to you?" He was panicking but he tried not to show it, but I knew him already.

"He comes in the room every night, Shadow. He says he's a friend but he is scary..." Noah sobbed.

"Yeah...! He carried me and said one day he was going to take us to play with him. But he wasn't nice... Mommy what if he comes again...?" This made me freeze.

"How did he look like?" Shadow insisted.

"I dont know. He had a big mustache." She tried to say 'mustache' but it came out funny. I was panicking as well.

"Sonic. He's known all the time. He could had taken them any time he wanted but he didn't." Shadow stood up again and looked at me.

"I-I..." I had tears rolling down my muzzle making my kids drop their ears.

"I'm sorry... Please don't be mad..." They said.

"No, kids, your mom isn't mad at you... Come on... Let's go." Shadow said making my ears perked up.

"We are STILL taking them to the park?" I said.

"Sonic, the castle isn't safe. If Eggman didn't take them when he could, that means he is waiting for something. At least they will be distracted and having fun, maybe make friends. They can't be locked in here forever." He pecked my lips. "I'll call Rouge and she'll call the others to keep us company with them then Mephiles and I will go to his lair and see what is going on. Okay?" He said making me slowly calm down and nod. "You can't be stressing out, remember."

"A-alright... Lets go."

I can't believe it...

They were never safe...

They could had been taken away from me all this time...

And I didn't know...
