"You can't" he tells me.
"Why not!" I ask him, but using a stern tone implying I'm serious.
"It's too dangerous" he adds.
"I can do just the same thing that anyone else can do around here. why won't you at least let me try?" I whimper.
"Like I said, it's too dangerous...." Newt repeats.
I stare at him. Firmly. What's his problem? So we like each other, he's not my body guard and I am certainly not allowing him to tell me what to do.
Out of the corner of my eye I see Alby. He is in charge of all this stuff, so I go and I take it up with him whilst leaving newt standing there like 'a spare lemon' is the saying people use.
"ably!" I shout whilst running
"Hmm?" He answers without looking up from his work.
"I know what job I want to do!" I tell him
This makes him look up.
"You haven't even tried any jobs, how can you know which one you want?" He asks
"Listen Alby, no matter how many jobs your going to put me on I'm going to be miserable. I need to be out and about, using my energy in something I'll enjoy rather than something I am told to do." I make this pretty clear that no matter if he offered a personal map out of the maze (not that he had one or we would have been out of here a long time ago) I am not going to change my mind.
"Okay" he sighs. "Your going to start training tomorrow, as for today you can find something useful to do with yourself. Actually, you can spend the day helping Newt! He has fallen behind on his jobs."
And with that I walk back over to newt looking rather pleased with myself.
"What?" He asks
"Oh nothing accept that I'm starting my runner training tomorrow!" I tell him like it's totally not a big deal
He looks at his shoes, he does that a lot and I don't even know why.
I should cheer him up
"I was assigned to stay with you for today, how lucky are you?" I ask with a grin on my face
He chuckles
"What?" I question, "I thought you like me?"
"I do, I'm excited to spend the day with you I guess" he says cheerfully and at the same time romantically whilst looking into my eyes.
Oh bloody great, I'm falling for him big time and there nothing I can do about it....
