The Spanish Promise
Karen Swan
Another great read from Karen Swan, I might even go as far as saying that it was better than 'The Greek Escape'. The mystery, romance, and secrets are all back and ready for a reader willing to take on the world of Charlotte. No one ever tells you there is an emotional side to money, but when Charlotte gets called in, that not all we find out.
A brilliant read I would recommend over and over, as well as any other Karen Swan books. Even the ones I haven't read... yet. you do have to pay close attention to detail and really get into the mood for the mystery. flash-forwards and flashbacks help with keeping the reader at bay of finding out the whole of the secret before the book is over and it just makes it that all more exciting.
It's an average size book but with a hell of a lot of content. almost too much to remember from chapter to chapter. But, it's again just enough to allow you to read without being too confused. the switching narrative is also brilliant! You get to see deeply into the minds of two characters, who are seventy years apart from each other. It's amazingly written and crafted to create a perfect book.
GO READ KAREN SWAN!!
