A/N: This story is set in New York City but the places in NYC are made up by me. If you've heard of a place, it is a mere coincidence. (: Enjoy this chapter <3

Outside Erin's old apartment, 1:34 PM, NYC..

"I'm going to miss you so much, Rin." Amanda sobbed.

"I think you'll manage without me, Mands." I placed both my hands on her shoulders and smiled. "More then you think, anyway."

She shook her head and wiped her eyes. "Now you and I both know that's not true."

I chuckled lightly, "Enjoy your last year of high school. Make it a good one."

"This isn't goodbye..right Erin?" Amanda's voice slightly cracked at the end of her sentence and I could feel my heart break once more.

"It's a see you later." I said before pulling her into hug again.

"You promise?"

"I swear it."

I did, I really did.

"In a bit then, Bailey." Amanda smiled through her tears.
"In abit Cookson."

And with saying that, I extended the handle on my suitcase and walked down to my taxi. Leaving the only home I've ever known behind me.

Location, currently somewhere in NYC.

Who would'a thunk it, huh Erin? Nineteen years of age and you're out of Shadow Beech.

I sighed and shifted in my seat slightly, still keeping my right cheek compressed against the train window.

'One, two, three, one two, three, Drink. Throw em' back til I loose count.' The familiar tune of Chandelier by Sia played through my earphones. I let out another sigh and smiled slightly.

"Excuse me?"

I looked up and in front of me was a fawn-haired, slightly awkward and geeky looking man. He couldn't be no older then myself and he was very easy going on the eye.

I took one bud out, looked up at him and smiled softly. "Yeah?"

"Is anyone sitting there?" He asked quietly whilst rubbing the nape of his neck.

Crap, I've been on this train for so long I forgot I'd taken up a four-seat space.

I quickly uncrossed my legs and shifted a few of my belongings. "Shit, no sorry. I've been alone for the last two hours. I wasn't really expecting anyone to ask." I flushed a little of embarrassment.

He let out a soft laugh and sat down in front of me with a warm smile.

"What you listening to? If you don't mind me asking, of course."

I held up my phone to him. "Ah, Sia. I'm familiar with her music. Beautiful lyrics." He said before leaning father back into his seat.

"Definitely. Very raw and full of emotion." I looked up and flushed again. "Sorry, I tend to ramble when it come to music."

"No, don't apologise. It's fascinating listening to someones music taste. I'm abit of a music geek myself." He smirked and rolled his eyes a little.

"I didn't catch your name?" I was intrigued to get to know him for some reason. And well, it's better then sitting in silence for god knows how many more hours.

"It's Daniel. Daniel Reykjavík."

"Reykjavík? As in the capital of Iceland?" I bit my lip slightly, trying to hide my smile.

"As in the capital of Iceland. I'm not embarrassed, it sounds cool."

"Yeah, it does sound cool. Cooler then my name." I shifted again, into a more comfortable position.

"Hit me with it."

"Erin. Erin Bailey. I used to get called Rin alot back at home."

"Erin.. it's a lovely name."

"Do you have a nickname of any kind? Maybe Dan?"

"Oh god, no." Daniel almost looked disgusted at the name. "It's too basic. Too basic for someone who has the capital of Iceland as their last name."

I snorted a little. "Okay fair enough, Daniel."

"Where are you heading then? With the amount of belongings you have, it doesn't look like you're returning anytime soon."

I bit down of my lip and shifted my feet around. "Yeah.. I don't plan on returning. Not for awhile. I'm heading to Summer Cross."

"Summer Cross? No way! That's where I'm heading." Daniel smiled at that. And so did I, maybe I wont be completely alone.

"Are you by any chance moving into the new apartment complex there?"

I nodded.

"You are looking at your new neighbor then, Miss Bailey."

"I'm also looking at the boy named after the capital of Iceland."

"That as well."

For the rest of the journey, we cracked jokes and bonded over emotional artists.

Daniel Reykjavík was the first friend I'd made before I even got into Summer Cross.

Maybe it wont be so bad afterall.
