The night has sadly come to an end but yet it hasn't. Walking hand in hand with Damien he leads you towards the car. He opens the door for you but you stop him. You guide him towards the side of the car and he leans his back onto it. Pressing your body to his you gaze into his deep brown eyes. Thoughts run around in your head. Should you do it?
A pair of hands finds your waist and he pulls you in tighter.
"It was so hard to keep my hands off of you when you look like that." he whispers.
You raise an eyebrow, "next time don't," you challenge with a smirk.
He cracks a loaded smile. His hands move to pull your jean jacket off your shoulders. His fingers graze your collar bone as they trace over to your shoulders and down your arms pulling the jacket into his hands. So gentle, with such bold intentions. The jacket is tossed into your seat. Returning to your waist he wraps his arms around you, one arm wrapping around you and the other supporting your back and holding the back of your neck. He leans his head down and kisses your shoulders and neck sending you gasping. His warm lips kiss your skin causing goosebumps to cover your body. Your arms wrap over his shoulders and your breathing changes in response to each kiss. His kissing becomes soft and gentle as he moves up your neck toward your jawline. Your hands leave his shoulders and find his face, bringing it to meet yours. Eyes lock and you both stand, staring into each others soul.
"I've been waiting for this," his eyes bore into you. "You've held me back until now and I can't figure out why" his hands pull you into him again.
"I wanted to make sure your intentions were pure, but also that I wasn't crazy," you say with a grimace.
He cocks his head to the side and makes a worried face. His hands stop pulling you and you take a step back causing his hands to land on your hips.
"I was going through my stuff before I moved a-and the yearbook from elementary school caught my attention so I flipped through it. I pulled up the page with my picture in it and your face, well your smile, stood out to me. I couldn't believe it was actually you when I saw you in that coffee shop," you moved a step closer to him. "I didn't want to tell you that at first because I didn't want to come off as crazy." you end with a smile.
His eyes look at you like they did when you told him you got the job. He chuckles and grabs your hands in his. Your head falls in embarrassment.
"y/n, that story doesn't change how I feel about you. When I saw you in that coffee shop lost in thought it took every ounce of my willpower not to come and sit with you. I was drawn to you immediately without even knowing your name or who you were." he's rubbing his thumbs along the back of your hands. "After you left the coffee shop I wanted to chase after you and walk you home, but didn't want to scare you off. Shayne and I felt that you were a genuine person from the start." One hand leaves yours and grabs your chin, pulling your face up to meet his again. "When you danced with Shayne at the other bar, it took all I had to not interrupt sooner. But you looked so content that I chose to stand and watch you as you sang that song. When I took over it felt like we had danced a thousand times before. I would have given anything for the DJ to play that song again."
"Damien I-" you stutter.
"Hold on," his finger shushes you. "I am drawn to you in so many ways. Just looking into your eyes gives me butterflies. Your smile and southern accent makes my heart flutter each time you talk or laugh." He pulls you against him. His hands tuck your hair behind your ears and grab your face gently. "I've never known a woman like you," his eyes searching your face. "And I'll be damned if I let you go." His forehead is against yours as his hands slowly pull your face to his, your eyes closing as his lips brush yours. He kisses you once, gently. If your heart could beat faster it would. He pulls back looking at you, making sure you're okay with what happened. Lust comes over you, pulling him to you the kissing resumes. It's not overzealous or hungry. Gentle kissing leads into passionate. Damiens hands stay where they were on your face.
All of this time you wanted to make him work for this moment. He needed to prove to you that he cared about you. From the beach, to the bars, to now, he had stayed respectful. No unsolicited touching or inappropriate comments. He was the one who got you an interview, the one that brought you home when you were drinking. Check, check, check. Whether you actually believed wishing on a star did anything, you were in this moment. No doubt this was everything you have wanted since you left Jack. Someone who wanted you for you and nothing more. He didn't ask for more that you were willing to give, and didn't take advantage of it.
He pulls away from the last gentle kiss as you collapse into his arms, inhaling in his cologne. You had no idea what time it was or where you two were but it didn't matter to you.
A cheesy smile comes over your face as his hands play with your hair. "Take me home, please," you say politely. He smiles at your request, helping you into your seat and closing the door. You wanted to continue and see where it would go but needed to start slow. Sitting in the front seat he pulls out of the parking lot and drives you back to your place.
