TO A DEAD LOVER

Love is a beautiful sin just like it is a lie between two souls lost and alone. I've never dreamt of finding love only for it to be cut from my fingers. If love is having to wait for the moment to fall and pray to be caught. Then I refuse to love again.

I can't watch the ducks fly without seeing you, they remind me of when we would sit, hold hands and forget the world as the wind sang in our ears. The white of their wings remind me of your hair, they remind of the light o
I saw everytime you stood behind a door.

No coffins for two, I want to lay next to you, had the thought crossed your mind too? We can die and lay next to each other,  shoulders pressed to another as they did when we slept. Hands holding like our very first time. I would have died happily if I was buried with you.

Morning light only recalls me of your smile. Bright and high, you'd smile when i refused to dance. You'd drag me to my arching feet and laugh as I missed all the steps, you were a good dancer. I still dream of those very dance steps I forgot, sad to say I'm better now that you are gone.

Fourth of July. You left me here to look at fireworks alone. I stare and slowly pray you watch them with me. I stare and hope that they reach you and burn your skin. So stubborn you are when you refused to drop the crackers, your mischievous smile burn through my memory as a tear drops. I told you those smokes would never do you good.

As much as I would hate to love again, heaven knows I'll fall if you were the one at the end waiting for me. The light i saw when you stand and watch is the light I'll pray to see when I close my eyes. I won't be in your coffin but let's hope they know well and bury me close to you, for I want to breath the same dirt as you. As for the morning light displayed when you smile, I knew I'll see it everytime I hold your hand to dance. And I wish your mischievous smile awaits me for smoke can't hurt the dead...
