"Happy Birthday!"
Mark blew out the candles as his friends and family cheered around him. His Dad took a photo as his friends crowded him.
Mark felt an arm Wrap around his waist out of the blue. He whipped his head around in surprise. It was Daniel.
The taller boy beamed down at him.
"You're finally 13! Maybe you'll be as tall as me soon." Daniel chuckled.
Mark flushed a deep red as he felt weird things in his stomach.
"You'll be joining high school next year soon enough so I'll get to see you even more now!" Daniel chattered excitedly.
Mark nodded absent-mindedly as Daniel chittred on. Was Daniel always that pretty?
~
"Mark, Daniel is here!"
"Coming Jungwoo!"
Mark scrambled off his bed and rushed downstairs, nearly bowling Taeyong over who looked back at him in amusement.
Mark slowed down as he came across a blushing Jungwoo and a smirking Daniel.
Mark felt his stomach flip, and not in a good way.
Daniel caught Mark's eye and immediately rushed over to hug him. Mark embraced him tightly.
"Markie! I'm so glad you invited me over!" Daniel exclaimed as he ruffled Mark's hair.
Mark whined and tried to pull himself out of Daniel's grip. This action made the latter burst out into laughter, Mark's giggles filling the air right after.
The two's laughter was interrupted by Jungwoo clearing his throat.
"Do you two mind if I join?" Jungwoo asked softly. Mark hated it when Jungwoo used that voice. It always meant he was going to get his way. Plus Johnny was there and Jungwoo was and would always be the favorite.
"Well, if Mark is okay with it then sure." Daniel shrugged.
Mark's eyes widened as he stared up at Daniel. If it were literally any other friend he probably wouldn't have a choice but it was Daniel. Sweet, loving, caring Daniel.
"Well, I kind of..." Mark hesitated to answer as he looked back at Jungwoo who was staring at him with pleading eyes. Mark's resolve immediately faltered. His love for his brother greatly outweighed his need for just some attention on him.
"Sure." Mark sighed out. Daniel smiled as Jungwoo broke out into a squeal and rushed over to hug him. Jungwoo then rushed upstairs babbling about getting pajamas.
~
Mark wishes he could hate Jungwoo, but he can't. Because Jungwoo was perfect, unlike Mark.
Mark brought his knees up to his chest as he watched Daniel and Jungwoo talk about the new Kpop group The Girlz. And just as he had expected they had forgotten him.
Mark shifted off the bed and turned his attention to the two on the other side of the bed.
"I'm going to the bathroom." Mark stated quietly.
Jungwoo and Daniel barely acknowledged him and continued to chat.
Mark sighed and shuffled himself out the door and down the hallway. He opened the bathroom door and peaked at himself in the mirror.
Before he knew it, tears were dripping down his cheeks. Shakily Mark tried to wipe his eyes frantically which felt like it had made it worse.
Mark looked back up at himself in the mirror and gave up. He fell to his knees on the cold tiled floor of the bathroom, shivering as he tried to wrap his arms around himself, while letting out quiet whimpers.
'I hate you Kang Daniel.' Mark thought.
'I love you yet I can't do anything about it.'

This is a bxb story so leave if you're just not into it and don't complain. Also if I write a character weirdly I'm sorry, I'm still a fairly new writer. I'm sorry if I portray smth wrongly too. Chapter 1 is better than this I swear.
So I will try and get the Letters to You chapter out by next Sunday and then I'll write out the chapter plan for the writers :ᴅ
