"Hey!" Ari says cheerfully.

Her exclamation is a mix of surprise and fake enthusiasm. At the same time, she jerks away from me pulling her hands free of me.

It's fast. I stumble back from the lack of support and there's an intense building between my legs. I start to sway on my feet. I'm hot and my heart is hammering out of my chest. I'm trapped in sexual limbo. I'm either going to faint or reach end goal. Ari notices and grabs my arm to steady me before I do something cringey like fall over.

Her face is red and she has the fakest of panicked smiles on her lips. And still, her gaze on me is enough to nudge me over the edge. I bite my bottom lip and stifle a moan. My knees go weak. Definitely not fainting.

This is embarrassing.

I want to sit down on the floor as pleasurable convulsions shake through me but Ari has a tight grip on me. Her eyes go from wide panic to amused. A smile is forming on her lips. She knows what's happening and thinks it's funny.

"What are you doing in here?"

Ari's eyes settle on the person behind me. Her hands hover over me for a few seconds. Satisfied my "fit" is over and I'm not in any danger of toppling over, she let's go of me. Then she walks past me to the stereo and turns off the music.

"We were dancing." Her voice is already calm and collected as if nothing happened at all. She's such a good liar. I don't know how she does it.

"In my room?"

"It was stuffy out there," Ari adds. "Too many people."

I take a couple of breaths and try to compose myself. I look down to make sure everything is in place before turning around to face Rosa's frowning face.

She scrutinizes me and narrows her eyes.

"What wrong with her?" She asks.

Rosa addresses her question to Ari instead of me. As if I'm incapable of speaking for myself. Which at the moment I might not be.

"Oh," Ari says, "She's had too much to drink."

Rosa grimaces, "She's not going to puke is she?"

"No, she's not." I manage to spit out.

Her eyes flick to me for split second but then back to Ari.

"People have started leaving. I thought I'd missed you. Join me in the hot tub?" She asks.

"Yeah, of course," Ari looks at me and any sign of anxiety is long gone. "Hot tub?"

Rosa's invite hadn't been extended to me. And from the way she refusing to look at me, I'd say I wasn't invited to this party at all.
