I wake up to Ari.
It's hands down my favorite thing in the entire world. No question, it just is. I've been awake for a few seconds but I'm keeping my eyes shut and pretending to be asleep. I'm not ready to let her know I'm awake.
I'm on my back. The sheets are tangled between my legs and the cool air is kissing my torso. Ari is under the sheets with me and she's leaning over me. She smells sweet and her hair is brushing against my skin. She's caressing me; lightly tracing an outline of my body with her fingertip. It's languid and gentle.
She'd started at my calf and is now gradually creeping up. Her finger caresses my inner thigh and lingers between my legs. I want to gasp. It takes all my self-control to keep my breathing calm and steady.
Then she continues up my stomach to my breasts. She flicks a finger along the ridge of my nibble and then briefly kisses it between her lips. A pleasurable twinge runs up my spine and I release a breath. Her finger continues to journey up to my chest, my collarbone, my neck, my jaw, and then to my lips.
I've lost control of my breathing.
One of her hands lays flat on my stomach and she's pressing her body against me. Her skin is the softest velvet and I want her to wrap herself around me. Then the warmth of her breath is on my lips. She lightly brushes her mouth to mine and sucks my bottom lip into hers.
I can no longer keep up the pretense of sleep. My heart is thumping erratically in my chest. She definitely knows I'm awake. Maybe always had.
Ari parts my lips with her tongue. I open my mouth and gladly take her in. I wrap my arms around her waist and pull her tighter to me. Yeah, waking up to her is my favorite thing in the entire world.
I'd do anything to keep it.
She lifts her lips from mine and smiles at me.
"Slow creeper," I mumble sleepily.
"What?" Her brows crease in confusion, "Are you still asleep?"
"No," I smile at her. "It's what I call your smile."
She scrunches her eyebrows. "You think my smile is slow and creepy?"
Her affronted tone makes me laugh.
"No," I lean up and peck her on the lips. "It's the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. But it always starts off small and slightly crooked then gradually builds until it's so full and radiant it makes my heart melt."
She wordlessly stares at me. Her brows are still creased, and her grey eyes are searching my face. Have I not explained well enough? I can be thoughtless and impulsive with my words.
"I love you," She says softly.
Then she leans back down and kisses me. Waves of her hair graze against my face and her tongue mingles with my own.
