One sunny day in early November, I ran into two boys as I was wandering around the woods near a trail. I was traipsing through the trees, keeping out of sight when I caught sight of them. All tall, scrawny looking boy wearing a navy blue cape and a bright red pointy gnome hat. He looked about 15. I scoffed at his dumb looking hat, but returned my attention to the two. Alongside Mr. Gnome hat, was a younger boy wearing light green bloomer like puffy pants with suspenders and a white shirt. He had a cracked teapot sitting upside down on his head.

"What an odd bunch." I thought to myself, but they were people. Possibly they knew the way out of this place! I slowly emerged from out behind the trees, trying not to startle the two. I had accidentally stepped on a twig as I was walking towards them, causing their heads to turn to me.

"Hey Wirt! Look, a person!" the younger boy exclaimed as I approached them. "Hi! I'm Greg, and this is my brother Wirt!" he said, pointing to the other boy. "And this is my pet frog named Kitty!" the boy added, holding up a huge green frog.

"Oh! Um, hi there!" I responded nervously. "My name's Topaz."

The older boy grinned, seeming relieved. He stretched out his hand from underneath his cape. I shook it kindly and smiled.

"Nice to meet you, Topaz. I was starting to think we were the only normal people in these woods." Wirt laughed, smiling. His face soon returned to seriousness. "Do you happen to know how to get... Like, out of here? We're terribly lost." He asked, sighing.

I frowned, hoping they would know the way out of the forest. "I'm terribly sorry... I've been lost in these woods for over a year now! I have no idea how to get out. It's like I'm trapped in a labyrinth!" I responded.

"Welcome to the Unknown, boys. You're going to be here awhile."
