Dinner Disaster?

(Lilliana's POV)

        We all sat down to eat. I was at the head of the table and my friends sat wherever they wanted. We had steak and chicken, mash potatoes and corn, bread rolls with butter. Tea water and juice for drinks. It was all a blast. We talked and laughed and made jokes. Aries and his friends asked us whatever they wanted and we answered everything.

       By now it was time for desert. Red velvet cake, my favorite. Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door. Sebastian rushed from the kitchen to get the door as I stood.

      "Don't worry about it, Sebastian. I've got it. Thank you."

      "As you wish, my lady." And with that he was off to the kitchen again.

       "Lil, I don't have a good feeling about this."

       "What do you mean, Crystal?" I asked.

       "Something isn't right..."

       "Well, then I suggest, everyone come with me."  I get up and walk toward the front hall. But first, I stopped in front of the fireplace and grabbed my sword from atop the wall. "Just to be prepared." I say with a little shake of my head. I walk to the door and open it slowly, sword extended and take a step out the door frame.

       "Careful, Lil. Something dangerous is out there."

       "I wouldn't say I'm dangerous." Said a deep voice I knew all too well.

       "Dregan." I spat.

       "Well, hello Lilliana. Your looking radiant as always."

       "What do you want, you snake?"

       "What I always want, my dear. You. But must I say, who are these god awful people, they don't smell of your kind." He wrinkled his nose in disgust.

       "Her kind? What do you mean?" Landon asks.

       "My dear boy, Lilliana and her friends are a very rare breed, favored by the moon goddess herself. Lupus the Golden. Meaning The Golden Wolf. She is a rare thing indeed. Feared by most, but quit a beauty."

        "Can it, Dregan. What are you doing on my property?" I snap.

       "Can't I just pay a friendly visit to a dear friend?" I push the tip of my blade harder into his neck, he gulps.

       "No." Aron, Jax, and I say at the same time.

      "Always straight to business with you three. I'm here for a favor. My niece and nephew will be in town for a few days looking at new packs to join. Could they come and check this place out? Its the safest place for them. I only want the best for them." His eyes tell the truth though his voice is cold.

     "Fine. We shall send for them the day after Christmas. Now leave my property or I will have you arrested for treason."

      "As you wish, your highness." He bows to me, as he always does when he leaves. I turn around and am about to walk through the door but is next words stop me cold. "Oh, Lilliana? How's the soon to be ex-faïence?"
