Sometime after chunin exams. Iruka's apartment*

Iruka:

I have a secret. Every so often, at night an Anbu comes to me.

The first time it happened, it scared me. It confused me. I had no idea why.

I'm still not sure I understand.

The first time, I was laying in bed. Half asleep. It was a warm summer night. I had left the window open for a breeze.

Then there was a soul in the room with me. I know they wanted me to know they where there, as they did not dampen their chakra at all.

I sat up in bed and looked over. Scared, because there sat a very disconcerting looking Anbu. He had all his gear on and an Anbu mask. It was too dark to make out anything else. Maybe that he was tall and slightly slender.

Iruka... What do you want?

I got no answer. This frightened me some.

Iruka... Am I needed for something or somewhere?

The Anbu shook "no".

Iruka... Am I in trouble?

The head shook "no".

Iruka... Is this some sort of test?

Again "no".

I started to get up. The Anbu held up his hands, motioning for me to stay put. I was confused and scared. Why was an Anbu in my bedroom at night?

Iruka... Ummm. Well if there is no reason for you to be here, why are you here?

This time the Anbu tilted his head and shrugged. Then he pointed at me.

Me?

Iruka... What about me?

Again the Anbu said nothing.
I started to get upset, angry. The Anbu might be elite warriors, but if there was no reason for this one to be here. He needed to leave.

I got up quickly, outta my bed. Realizing I was in just boxers. But boxers or not, Anbu or not. This person had no right entering for no reason.

I had grabbed the kunai that was forever hidden by my bed. The Anbu had been starring, but seemed to just notice the weapon.

He made a "no, no" gesture. I hesitated. He then made a "stay" gesture.

Iruka... I don't know what's going on. But you need to leave if you have no reason to be here!

The Anbu nodded "yes" this time. He approached. With his hands out and up in front of him. He came close. But I was still in a defensive stance with my kunai ready. We inched around each other, till he was next to the window.

He made one more gesture and pointed at me again. Before he was out the window and gone. I ran to the window and looked out, but there was nothing. Shaken to my core and jumpy, I slept with my kunai in hand.

And for a month we exchanged the same ritual meeting as the first. Me confused and him not speaking. But he came almost like clockwork, every few days.

Then the exchange of words finally happened.

One month later. Iruka's bed room*

One night just like all the others, he was there. I had started to realize, he was not gonna harm me, but still I did not want a stranger in my room while it was the middle of the night and I was trying to sleep.
