Chapter 9

*Warning triggering stuff*

Daniels POV

I'm transported in a separate ambulance then Kalea. My head is swimming and I cant make out the faces of the paramedics and nurses wheeling me into the emergency room my vision wavers in and out and suddenly everything's black.

Jonahs POV

We all leave the party taking separate cars and head to the hospital. They took Daniel away on a stretcher and he didn't look good he had a busted lip and a cut by his eyebrow that was pouring blood when we got to him. but Kal oh Kal she wasn't breathing when they got to her and Daniel was in to much of a state of shock to realize the paramedics were doing CPR. I pull up the hospital and jump out. A young nurse maybe my age greets me at the desk. "Hi how can I help you?" She says cheerfully. How can you be cheerful in a place like this? "Umm hi my friends were brought in earlier and I need to check on them." I say tapping my fingers against the hard surface of the desk. "Names?" "Daniel Seavey and Kalea Noe."

The nurse taps against her keyboard and shakes her head. "Okay so Mr. Seavey is going to be down the hall to your right in room 302. And Ms. Noe is currently in surgery." "SURGERY???" Amara had come up behind me. "Oh my gosh is she okay? surgery? what happened?" Amara says freaking out. The nurse shakes her head. "I'm sorry, I don't have any details" "Ok thank you" I say. I pull Amara towards me and she sobs into my chest. "Shh its going to be okay shh shh" I say as I rub her back.

"Lets go sit down okay?" I sit on an uncomfortable chair in the waiting room and pull Amara on top of me. "Its going to be okay, ok?" She nods and continues crying. Just then Corbyn and Christina walk in. They spot me and walk over. "What happened? wheres Daniel? and Kal?" Christina asks all at once. she's clearly distraught. "Daniel is in room 302 I haven't seen him yet but you two can go. And Kalea is in surgery we don't know why." Christina puts a hand to her mouth. "Oh no" she mutters. "Go see Daniel I'll wait here for news of Kalea." I look down to Amara who has fallen asleep in my arms. Corbyn is still standing there. "Go."

Daniels POV

I wake up in a hospital bed with wires upon wires attached to me. For a moment I don't know how I got here but then the memories come flooding back. the party. Brighi. the fight. and Kalea. Kalea. "Wheres Kalea!?" I sit up fast. my head protests as the stabbing pain matches the beating of my erratic heart.

"Hey bro calm down okay? calm down its all right." Corbyn places a hand on my shoulder and gently guides me back down to my pillow. "Wheres Kalea?" I repeat. "Shes in surgery we don't know why but Jonah is trying to find out." Corbyn says. "This is all my fault I shouldn't have left her and now shes hurt or worse." Its taking all of my energy not to break down crying. (cause guys get sad too) "Hey! don't you dare say that Daniel! You are the one that recused her before anything worse could've happened she wasn't raped because you stopped that sorry excuse for a man from doing it. She wasn't killed because you saved her Daniel!" Christina says. "Don't blame yourself dani please." she says.

Jonahs POV

"Hi Are you here for ms. Noe?" I look up to see an older man dressed in scrubs and a surgical cap. I gently peel Amara off of me and set her down on the chair and she stirs a bit but doesn't wake. I grab his hand he had offered, shaking it. "Yes I am, we are friends." I say releasing his hand. "Ok then well shes out of surgery and it went well." he says. "That is such a huge relief what happened to her?" I breathe out "Well when she fell down the stairs he ended up breaking a rib and it caused a traumatic pneumothorax  which is where her lung collapsed and she couldn't breathe well. She had a pretty large puncture hole so we had to do surgery to fix that and to also give her a tube that will help the collapsed lung inflate and deflate as she's recovering." (My knowledge on pneumothorax's isn't the best so feel free to correct me) "Ok so she will have a full recovery then?" I ask "Yes she will as long as she rests and doesn't do anything to active." "Thank you so much doctor..?" "Doctor marshaun." he says. "doctor marshaun Thank you" "You're welcome you can see her in about an hour or so if you would like Room 301 I believe but i would check with the nurses." "Of course thank you again" "Not a problem son." he says as he walks away. I have to go tell Daniel.
