Not The Best

You are not the best,
Nor will you ever be.
You are wild and demanding,
Except for when you should be.
Self conscious and insecure,
You never quite know what you're in for.
You are not the best,

Unattractive: fat, ugly, all together lousy,
Could anyone ever want to be with you?
Dumb, slow, your mind easily swayed,
Why are you so naive?
A couple good words or a hopeful sentence said,
And you start dreaming of a life that will never be.
No idea where you want your life to go,
No idea who you want to be.
Why are you like this?
The best you will never be.
Why do you try,
Hoping someday someone will lie?
Tell you "you're great and amazing and perfect,"
You wouldn't even believe them, you know you shouldn't.
You'll never be the best,
You'll never be who he likes.
You'll never be good enough,
You'll never be who he wants.
You are not the best,
You are loud, annoying, complicated.
You never say what you want,
because you are too scared to.
