Chhapaak

Director: Meghna Gulzar

Chhapaak Story:

'Chhaapak' is a sensitive film with a delicate, yet powerful, handling of a heinous crime against women, and an important story that needs to be heard. It is a story on the  life of a nineteen-year-old girl takes a turn when she is subjected to a horrific acid attack. But she resolves to fight for justice and reclaim her life.

Chhapaak Review:
Meghna Gulzar's 'Chhapaak' is inspired by the story of real life acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal, who has become a symbol of strength and inspiration for many women but Meghna change the names of characters and minor details, presumably for legal reasons. She gets its title from the sound of a splash. Sadly this is no splash from children jumping into puddles of rain,it is the sound and the force of acid flung to the face.

Sanjeev Nanda  going with three-and-a-half out of five for Chhapaak. Its strength is in its quietude. It goes about its business with minimal fuss. The film is both moving and important. And its leading lady is in very fine form.
