Chapter 6

I opened the front door quietly to see if they were fighting again. Nobody seemed to be home. I got my homework done.

I started to get hungry so I went into the kitchen to make something to eat.

I decided to make a bowl of cereal. Of course my favorite kind of cereal had to be put up higher then the rest.

As I tried standing on my tippy toes to get it I felt someones body heat behind me. A hand came up and grabbed the cereal box and handed it to me. When I turned around I wasn't surprised to see Rice.

"Well that was my good deed for the day." Rice grinned.

"Thanks. Want a bowl?" I said watching him yawn and stretch his arms above his head making his shirt ride up.

"No thanks. I'm not hungry just tired."

"We can go watch a movie." I suggested grabbing his arm and my bowl of cereal and walking to the living room. I set my bowl of cereal down to pick out a movie and Rice grabbed my arm.

"Hey Stage?" He seemed sort of sad. "Were okay right? I mean about this morning, I don't want you to be mad at me. I'm just trying to look out for you."

"I know. Thank you." I gave him a hug and started looking through movies.

It's times like these that make me regret planning revenge on him but he has to learn his lesson.

Half way through the movie I heard snoring and knew he had fallen asleep. He probably had a rough day with that girl he was with this morning.

I crept over towards him and laid a blanket over him. He seemed so peaceful so I went back on my chair and fell a slept as well.

A couple of hours later I woke up to yelling. My parents didn't even make it to the door before they started the arguing.

I looked over to my left were Rice was laying but he wasn't there. The blanket that I laid on him was now on top of me.

I hurried up the steps to my room before my parents decided to put me in the middle of their fight.

Your probably wondering why they don't get a divorce. I like to think that the reason is me. They love me, so they stay together for me but the real reason is because dad doesn't want to give mom half of everything and mom deep down is still in love with dad.

I couldn't sleep last night. Not only did my parents stay up all night fighting but I felt wide a wake.

Brook and Trish like always showed up bright and early in the morning.

I hadn't heard my parents in a while fighting, so I assumed they both left.

It wasn't until my makeup was done and I was ready for school that Brook decided to bring up one of my worst fears.

"We're going to a party tonight." She smiled and was dancing in her seat.

"Ohh that's great, call me when you guys get home." I smiled innocently.

"All three of us are going to this party." Trish said looking back at me in the rear view mirror.

"Come on you guys, going to the track is one thing but a party?" I asked hoping to get out of this.

"You're going. End of discussion." Brook turned to look at me with a face that told me I wasn't going to win this argument.

"Fine."

"Plus Andrew always throws the best parties. This will be so much fun." Brook smiled.

The whole day I heard about Andrew's party. When the end of the day came around I was exhausted and wanted to go home.

"Hey Stage." I turned around to see Jackson and Max walking up behind me.

"Hey guys." I continued putting my stuff away. "Where's the third musketeers? I haven't seen him all day. " They both shrugged their shoulders.

"Do you know if he's going to the party?"

"Yeah, he's going. Why do you want to know?" Jackson ask.

"I might need a ride home."

"Wait, your going to the party?" Max cut in.

"Yep." I said.

"Maybe this party is going to be more interesting then I thought." Jackson smiled and walked away.

"What?" I asked, watching him walk down the hallway.

"Don't mind him. We haven never seen you go to a party before." Max said before walking off after Jackson.

"Stage let go." Brook yelled down the behind me. I slammed my locker shut and ran after her.
