Chapter 4- Reanimated

The lightly pouring rain didn't help wash away the smell of decaying flesh that filled the air.

I helped the police officer with a neck wound, then he told me what happened.

" Go call it in on our car's radio. A far as I saw it's clear outside."

" That thing didn't go down. It's like its skin's to tough for bullets."

" Thank you."

He exited and I cleared the store, finding his partner getting eaten by a reanimated corpse. I was just presuming at this point.

I fired and shot infected took five bullets and a survivor's knife to the head to kill it.

The sound of two vehicles filled my ears as I evited the shop, the reanimated corpse's blood covering my front.

" Did you get through?" I asked the officer.

" No answer."

" Don't worry, I'll take care of it." I said, typing the situation up on the scanners as the offer handled the approaching vehicles.

While the officer was talking with the young man and women, I dealt with a few reanimated.

A message popped up on my watch, saying the swat and the police officers a few counties were arriving to help me get a border containment going.

I told the officer and the young man volunteered, stating who he was as he showed me his badge.

" I tried the police station," The officer stated. " No answer."

" But that doesn't mean there are people inside there that need help." The young lady mentioned.

"You're a Hunter?" Leon Kennedy asked.

" Yep." I said, fiddling with my watch, making sure the backup understood.

My stomach rumbled as Leon aimed and fired at a reanimated.

" Form a circle so we don't get jumped." I pointed out.

We formed said circle and waited for help to arrive, not another one popping up.

" They're sticking to the city." I said exhaling.

" You alright?" Leon asked.

" Yeah, just hungry."

Our backup pulled up as the rain thickened.

" I'll take half of your team and two pairs of police officers to start clearing out the city, the rest of you are in charge of setting up barriers to help contain this. After it is contained we will worry about how and where this started. From the rate of infection, it looks like whatever this is was in the water. I've contacted the surrounding area's and they are forbidding any contact with the water. This infection is spread by bites, scratches and any contact with bodily fluid. Remember, their skin is thickened, headshots are your best defense. Note that you will have to empty half a clip into them, maybe the hole. Any questions?"

" At what distance to we set up the barricade?" A female officer asked.

"A few miles back should be far enough. They are slow-moving, they shouldn't have gotten that far yet."

" Let's get moving." One of the officers said.

The supply boxes I asked for arrived and after everyone was supplied we headed out, ready to face whatever awaited us.
