Chapter 4: Thursday November 1st 12:00 pm ~noon~
They all walked down the sidewalk, each pushing a cart, besides Springtrap who was pushing two like it was nothing. Deliah had a scarf wrapped around her face and ran down the sidewalk, pushing a cart full of pop tarts and other unhealthy foods. She leaped and hopped onto the foot bar, riding the cart down the sidewalk ahead of everyone else. Richie's cart was completely full of canned food, Nick's had some canned food at the bottom but then some cereals Deliah likes, flashlights, batteries, first aid kits, medicines he stole from the pharmacy, some wood on the bottom of the cart, and warm waterproof jackets for him, Deliah, and Harry. Springtrap's carts were just full of all canned food, which made it even more surprising that he pushed them with ease. Harry's cart was similar to Deliahs besides some table games and other useless junk. Deliah planted her heels in the concrete and skidded to a halt, a cold damp breeze blew through her and she snuggled her face further into her scarf. The sky was a dark grey blue with no sunlight showing, the clouds looked heavy with rain and the neighborhood was completely abandoned, no one's cars were in their driveway except for theirs and someone else's at the end of the road. Deliah saw their house up ahead and sped up, excited to try and eat all of her junk food in one night. Springtrap seemed to know exactly what she was thinking "Don't even think about it, you guys need to conserve food."
They rounded the edge of the fence and pushed their carts up the driveway, Springtrap was the first to the door and Nick tossed him the keys, as he struggled to try and hold three carts at the top of the driveway without them tumbling back into the road. Springtrap fumbled with the small keys in his large hands but finally unlocked the door. The only thing they heard was a loud smash followed by a high pitched scream and a loud thud.
~Earlier that day~
Nathan felt like he had been alone for what seemed like days, in this dark house of people he didn't know. He can barely remember anything from last night and has a terrible headache along with a lump on his head that stung when he touched it. He did, however, remember a bear or something coming towards him, then blackness. The girl, Desiree, or so he thought it was, and that one boy, what's his name, probably left him here to die. Being too afraid to try and find his way home in this deathly quiet neighborhood, he stayed hidden in their house, hoping for someone to come looking for him. He had been crying for the past hour when suddenly he heard wheels rolling down the sidewalk. He opened up the blinds to see a massive furry creature, along with a shady man in a black ripped coat walking towards the house. He slid over to the door and locked it, hoping that would keep them out, then hid next to the door behind a small table, grabbing a lamp off it. He heard keys jingling then the doorknob turned once, and creaked open. A small sliver of light slowly grew bigger, it felt as if everything was moving in slow motion. A massive figure filled the doorway, its eyes were glowing a deep pink colour and its hands and chest were covered in blood. "What the-" it mumbled under its breath as Nathan swung the lamp towards it, with a loud crash the lamp shattered. The monster didn't even seem phased, it hadn't moved an inch and now stared at him looking extremely pissed. Nathan heard screaming and realized it was coming from himself. He fell back, winching as his hands sliced against shards of glass that were scattered across the floor, and scooted up against the wall, desperately trying to put distance between them but his legs didn't seem to work. 'If only I had just stayed at home, none of this would've happened!' He thought to himself. Just then the girl, Debbie or something, ran between him and Springtrap. "Woah! It's okay! Springtrap you better step outside for a minute..." Deliah said. The mons- Springtrap looked at her quizzically, then at Nathan, like he was the thing out of place here, not the giant creature covered in blood. He nodded at Delanie and then glared back at Nathan, definitely still mad. Deliah walked up to him "Sorry about that, Springtrap can be kinda... Intimidating. Are you okay? You've been here by yourself for a while, we kinda... forgot about you." She gave Nate an apologetic smile, at least she was honest, unlike every other person in his life. "It'll be okay, Nathan!" "It's nothing to worry about, Nathan." He scowled at these flashbacks, knowing it never got better, nothing ever changed. "Just keep on moving forward, things'll look up!" He realized Delma was holding out her hand to him, he hesitantly reached out his, and she looked down at his cut up bleeding hands. "Oh my gosh! Are you okay!?" She grabbed him by his wrist and hauled him up. Her hand was soft, she seemed like such a nice person. He tried to find words "Yes- I- I'm sorry I broke your lamp..." Now she looked at the floor, by now a boy and their dad, along with trench coat man was standing behind her. His eyes scanned over them a few times, double-checking the monster they called Springtrap wasn't inside. "You must be really scared, but don't worry! Springtrap is the bestest friend I've ever had!" At the mention of his name, Springtrap was in the doorway, still looking extremely threatening. He smiled widely, not a kind smile, more like the kind a predator who just caught his prey would make. Nathan shrunk further into the corner of the room "Don't be afraid, he's nice I promise!" Daphne said, her smile seemed so sincere, he smiled back. However small of a smile it was, she saw it and it must have encouraged her further. Her smile grew and she stepped aside, grabbing Springtraps arm and pulling him closer. "Say hi Springtrap!" He towered over Nathan "Hello~" Springtrap said in a deep, robotic voice. He sounded like some sort of serial killer, Nathan felt like he couldn't breathe, he tried to take deep breaths to calm himself but it ended up making him hyperventilate. 'This had to be some sort of nightmare, this can't be real. This monster cant be real!' He looked around the room, everyone behind Springtrap looked concerned for him, feeling dizzy, he started to fall backward, losing consciousness yet again but was swiftly caught by cold, hard hands that lifted him up. The last thing he remembered was being surrounded by people who were talking, then being lifted off the ground before everything faded into darkness.
Nick lay Nathan down on the couch. As he slowly removed his arm from underneath the boy's body, he turned his attention towards the audience behind him. "Uhh... Let's just go put the food away..."
They all roamed around the carts and proceeded to collect the items in them, placing each item in their proper spots in the cupboards and fridge.
After what seemed like an eternity, they all finished putting the groceries away.
"I think I broke my arms..." Deliah murmured as she flipped onto the floor. They all gathered around her and grinned. "Yeah, alright. Geeeet up..." Springtrap said the last part as he pulled her up. Then all of a sudden, Nick just had a moment of realization. "Wait a second... do you realize how much we stole?! We don't even know what's going on yet?! And somebody else's group could have needed this stuff!" He spoke out. "Chill out. From what I can tell, we are literally in the apocalypse. Better safe than sorry." Springtrap noted.
After everyone realized they were sitting in silence, Deliah got an idea. "Hey, wait a second... Dad, remember that radio you got me for Christmas? Why don't we play some tunes! It's too quiet in here." "There's no power, though?" Nick replied quietly. "Nope! It's battery-powered. I have some discs in my dresser. I'll go get them!" Deliah said as she walked into her room to retrieve the discs and radio.
As she went to grab the CDs, everyone was just quiet. They all just looked around cluelessly, until, "Got 'em! Deliah said subtly and loudly, which made everyone jump. "Hehe... Sorry..." She grinned.
She placed the radio on the table and inserted the first CD she had grabbed. Green Day? Well, that's interesting. Even though it was very obviously not, mostly judging by her bubbly personality, she acted as though it was normal. Harry and Springtrap just laughed. "What?" she asked desperately. "You try so hard to be edgy, it's just hilarious!" Harry shouted as he started to laugh even more, Springtrap joining. "That's rich coming from you." She mumbled with her arms crossed.
She went and sat on the floor by the feet of Springtrap. She wrapped her arms around his legs and leaned against them. "Sorry." She said in a quiet yet noticeable voice. "For what?" He chuckled. "This music." she laughed softly. "It's all good. Reminds me of better times." He stared out the boarded windows. "Love you." She whispered and looked up to him. He sat there shocked for a second. He then smiled and rubbed her head.
