It all happened in a flash, the building crumbled and in the wreck a sharp piece of metal impaled your chest. Miroku yelled, his legs racing to reach you.
Your eyes half-lidded, you could feel each breath getting harder to choke out. Blood pooled around your feet, soaking the pretty, (f/c) kimono you'd only just bought.
Miroku fell to his knees at the sight of you, pale complexion and coloured crimson. He grasped you hand in his trembling one.
"Mi...ro..ku." was the last words you uttered.
His pupils widened and tears streamed from his sockets. "Nooo, (Y/n)! Please come back to me! You have to...you have to.."
You were still in the process of dying though it was only the priestess who could see your soul not your husband.
Blonde hair tied into a bun, wearing the traditional clothes. Pointed an arrow to the floating, blue sphere and released.
It pierced your soul, carrying to a destination you were not supposed to go. The old temple Hayubusa. Even in death she could not shake her jealousy, so now by her curse you were bound to protect this abandoned temple.
A few months had passed ever since your passing. Miroku persevered with a smile everyday though everyone could see through the fake facade.
Not being able to bear their stares any longer. He picked up his staff and went to see you at Hayubusa temple. The distance was quite far but nothing he wouldn't trek for you.
After panting and puffing he slumped onto the front steps. Leaning against his staff. Then he quietly mumbled your name, "(Y/n)."
A soft glow emitted and the form of your body fizzled into his view. He smiled, "no matter how many times I see you your beauty doesn't become less."
You giggled at his compliment, "my dear you don't need to flatter me when I'm dead."
He patted the spot beside him, which you sat. "In death you still dazzle me I just wish I could touch you." His features turned to sorrow.
You glanced at him, "what's troubling you Miroku?"
His fingers tightened around the metal staff. "Sango has feelings for me I've noticed and to admit I've been doing a lot of womanizing."
You arched your brows, "can't stay loyal even to a dead woman?" He chuckled nervously, "I haven't been completely unfaithful to you these lips haven't kissed anyone nor has my-"
"Miroku ok I get it!"
You rolled your eyes still able to blush as a spirit. "But I never said you couldn't move on honey."
He averted his gaze, "the thing is I don't want to."
You gave a sad smile he didn't see, "I know...but if you did I think Sango would be the one to deserve you."
He whipped around to see a pained expression on your face you were trying to mask. His voice became more gentle, "well I'm sorry (Y/n) but I won't be moving on anytime soon."
The whole afternoon you chatted which soon the moon began to rise. "The night has arisen looks like I take my leave now." You stood as he did.
"Be safe please."
Miroku stretched, "for you anything." He said with a wink.
"I love you Miroku."
"I love you too."
