The Power of the Dyad

3 months have passed since the destruction of the Final Order and the ultimate defeat of the Sith Lord; Emperor Palpatine.  Rey had defeated him but at the cost of her own life to which Ben Solo, gave his own to save hers.

After the battle had been won and the war ended, Rey decided to live on Ahch-To, she had felt empty and sad after Exegol, after Ben had sacrificed himself so that she could live.  Her nights of sleep are often restless, she is haunted by his memory, she wanted to be able to touch him again, she would give anything to even be able just to see him again.  

Every night she lie awake, desperate to have him at her side again, she feels incomplete and more alone than ever before.  One night she had what she thought was a dream but was in fact a vision, in the vision she saw him, Ben, her beloved Ben, not as a ghost but as a complete being, free of any hurt or pain.  "Ben, is that you?"

"Yes, Rey, it’s me." A single tear ran down her face, she couldn't believe that she was actually seeing him again after what had happened.  "Why did you do it, Ben, why did you leave me alone again?"

"Rey, I gave my life for you because I couldn't bear the thought of living on without you, you mean more to me than anything else."

"I would rather have a life with you in it, Ben, I don't want to be alone, I don't want to go through this without you, I want to be with you again."

"You're not alone, Rey, and you never will be again, I will always be with you, not even death could break our bond."

"I wanted a family, Ben, a family with you and now...and now I don't feel that can ever happen, now that you're no longer alive." 

"I'm sorry, Rey, I truly am." Ben pulls Rey in for a hug, she hugs him tightly for fear that he'll disappear again. 

"How can I bring you back, I miss you so much." 

"I miss you too, Rey, I want to be able to hold you all the time but unfortunately I can't."

"Why is it that you didn't appear to me as a ghost?"

"I don't know, Rey, it must have something to do with the dyad, if one of us dies, the other would as well."

"But I'm alive and you're not here, this is so unfair."  Rey began crying because of how badly she misses Ben being in her life.  "Rey, if you look inside the Jedi texts you might be able to find out what happened to me."  After Ben said his last words to Rey the vision ended and Rey woke up in her bed, was it really him, is it possible that Ben is actually alive?  Rey thought to herself.  

The following morning Rey ran to the Jedi texts as fast as she could, opening them and searching for the section that was all about the dyad, while she's reading, a beacon of light appears behind her, she feels the presence of Leia's ghost near her.  "Hello Rey, it's good to see you again."

"Leia?  I'm so glad to hear from you after all this time, I've been trying to find out what actually happened to Ben, I had a vision last night in which he appeared to me and he wasn't just a byproduct of the vision, I was able to touch him, it was actually him!"

"There's something that you should know, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you sooner, although Ben's body did disappear from the living realm, he is not one with the Force." 

"So where is he?”  

"I don't know exactly where he is but I have one last thing to tell you, before I passed on into the Force, I gave the last of my energy to Ben in hopes that I could save him from dying." 

"So he is alive?”  

"Yes, he is, the Jedi texts should be able to help you.  Rey, have you ever heard of something called the World Between Worlds?"
