Chapter 2

Every step he took shook me and as hard as I tried to stay standing I kept falling down so I had to curl up in a ball and hug his thumb until we get to wherever he was taking me.

We walked for what would have taken me another year to walk, and we made our way to a street, the streets were quiet and not too many people past us by and the ones who did didn’t take any notice of me.

He walked up to a door and opened it, I took a look around, it seemed to lead straight into a living area and connected to the living area was an open kitchen and dining room.

He put his palm down on the dining room table and I jumped off.

He walked to the fridge and opened it “Want something to drink” he called out “Yes please!” I yelled back extra loud because of the distance between us, he nodded and looked around.

“Here” he says and places what looks like the lid to soft drink bottle in front of me, I am only just taller than it.

I look in and it has some water in it, I wonder if it’s safe to drink, but my thirst get the better of me and I dive in and drink it all. I stood up in the lid cap, I stepped out of it and heard a chuckling, and I turned and looked up to see Jacob laughing.

As he ran out of breath his voice got high pitched and I covered my ears, I know he didn’t mean to but he was making a lot of noise and it was hurting my ears.

“ARGH! What’s so funny!?” I ask when he doesn’t stop laughing “You – you” he started but fell into another fit of laughter; he clutched his stomach and fell to the floor.

He landed with such and impact that it knocked me off my feet and I fell flat on my ass.

I decided to ignore him and look around; I wanted to make sure I know every nook and cranny in this place so that when the time comes I can make my escape.

I limped to the other side of the table and looked over the edge, it was a long fall, then silence, I noticed Jacob had stopped laughing, where is he?

“BOO!” he yelled as his face came up the edge of the table, I screamed and fell from the table, he didn’t move and he was laughing, with his mouth open and his eyes shut.

I realized I was falling and I was heading straight for his mouth, I tried so hard to grab hold of the side of the table but it was no use.

“JACOB!” I yelled as I got closer and closer to his mouth, than I fell on something soft and bouncy, I closed my eyes not wanting to see where I was especially if I had landed on the person I only just met.

I felt to things as long and as hard as tree trunks press against me from either side, I kept my eyes closed and my hands over my face as I was lifted a 100 feet into the air, I felt a warm breeze on me.

“It’s ok, I would never hurt you, I’m sorry” I heard a loud whisper “Please don’t be frightened of me” he said and I opened my eyes slowly, I saw a tear fall from one of his eyes, he was holding me really close to his face, I could see the desperation and care in his eyes.

I tried a smile but his face kept the same, I tried to speak but no words came out, I hung my head in defeat, I couldn’t fix this situation if I tried, but right now I was at the mercy of a teenage boy.

“Come on lets got you cleaned up” he whispered again and the next thing I know he stands up and I almost faint by the sudden movement.

He walks through his house and into a huge bathroom, he puts me down on the edge of the sink, I watch in silence as he puts the plug in the bottom and fill the sink up just a little bit.
