I grew up as the daughter of a professional hero. My mother was one of the greatest heroes to ever exist. I wanted to be just like her.

I grew up as the daughter of a quirkless hero. My father wasn't a professional hero, but a personal, everyday hero. He helped everyone he came in contact with, even though he didn't have a quirk. I wanted to be just like him.

One day, both my parents died in a horrible and destructive battle. When I first heard the reports of their deaths, I thought they would have died heroes. But when I was visited by the police, they told me both my mother and my father had been some of the most feared villains with some of the most powerful quirks. They told me I should be happy they hadn't hurt me before their defeat.

That night, I found the envelope my parents said I should only open in the case of their death. It contained a small sum of money and an address.

It took me nearly two hours to find the address. Once I arrived, I knocked, but there was no reply. I knocked again, louder this time, but still no one answered.

Defeated, I slumped against the door and sunk down onto the steps. Eventually, I fell asleep.

The next morning, I didn't wake up on the steps. I didn't wake up in the police station or the orphanage either. Instead, I woke up in a makeshift bed in a booth of a mostly deserted bar.

As it turned out, the address my parents had sent me to was the headquarters for a group of villains. They welcomed me in as one of their own. They told me to visit as much as possible to discuss plans, but continue with my path as a normal kid. With no other options, I did exactly what they told me to.

I didn't have a choice.
