"And that was the last question Mrs. Lenz, get well soon," Nile left the room too. Closing the door softly on the way out. The hospital room was now dark, the only light being the heart monitor, a soft light from the sink, and the T.V. which was repeating information on what happened at the tag office.
"Eren...." she whimpered. Scared of what might happen to him. She then got out of bed. Her whole body hurt. She had been asleep for four days from what she had been told, since she hadn't gotten medical attention for nearly 30 minutes after she was shot.
She had been bruised by the rough treatment of the Titans. Her body was black and blue in multiple spots. She limped to the large window, holding on to the mobile heart monitor and wheeling it with her.
She sat in the guest chair and put her hands on the cold window sill, shivering slightly as she did so. The city was beautiful. There were no starts because of light pollution. But looking at the city was enough.
"Please be okay..." a single tear trailed down the blonde angel's face, falling to the cold tile floor beneath her.
-----
"Come onnnnn!" Jean whined, Mikasa once again catching his dodgeball. "This is the third game in a row!" The red ball slammed into Jean's face, he fell on his butt. Everyone in the class burst into laughter.
It was a sunny and cool day, the wind blew the perfect speed, and everyone was in high spirits. Including Annie.
"I'll do it again," Annie offered.
"No No! It's fine!" Jean assured through his hands, trying to hold his bleeding nose. He ran off to the side lines for the third time.
He sat next to Connie, who had an ice pack on his head. He had obviously seen the same fate in the match.
"Those two are unreal," Jean muttered as he grabbed the ice pack he had used the match before.
"I know, it's like they're super human," Connie marveled at the two as they took down their whole team by themselves.
"Anyway. We need to talk," Jean said. Getting serious. "Eren has been missing for a while. And I think the Titans got to him,"
"You said we should deny ever knowing him. Why are you bringing this up now?" Connie asked, slightly irritated that Jean had tried to cut Eren's existence out of their lives. Connie liked him.
"Because. I like the guy. And I want to make sure he is okay. As much as I don't want to get into gang related things. I just want him to be alive," Jean hunched down a little on the red wooden bench. "Yeah, he was an asshole. But at least he had good intentions. You know?"
"I know what you mean," Connie sighed, flashbacks of being thrown around during "training" filled his mind.
"So what do we do?" Jean asked.
"I guess we drive up to Stohess? I dunno, it's a touchy subject with the rest of us, Jean. Sasha is down right terrified of the thought of dealing with it. And who knows what Krista thinks."
"I know what Krista wants. She wants to save his ass. Wherever he is. If he is even alive. The dumbass,"
"We know Eren is alive. And probably kicking Titan ass in the city. That's all I can think. The dude was a tank. So they aren't going to get him easily," Connie replied.
"New game!" They heard Armin yell out. The two groaned as they painfully got up and got back on the court.
-----
"You had multiple contusions, Mrs. Lenz, I would appreciate it if you stayed for at least one more night," the doctor begged.
"I feel fine," she grunted out, standing up from the bed. Her legs felt slightly weak. She hadn't walked around much.
Dok burst in right then. His face looked stony and his jet black hair was bedraggled. Krista slightly gulped at what news he was bringing.
"Can I talk to her alone?" Nile asked the doctor.
"Of course, I'll be back when you two are finished," the doctor let himself out.
"Good news, bad news, and more bad news," Nile announced to her. She sat down on the bed.
"Which do you want first?" He asked.
"Let's get the bad out of-"
"Good news first," he interrupted. "You are going to be okay, and the Titans won't be bothering you,"
"What's the bad news then?" She asked, at least relieved about the Titans not being on her tail.
"You are going to be under complete police surveillance twenty- four seven,"
"And what's the other bad news?"
"We're going to be sending you to the Witness Protection Program." He told her.
      "What does that mean?"
He sat down and sighed. "I never knew I would get into this kind of bullshit in Trost of all places," this was hitting him hard.
"You'll be..." he put his hand on her shoulder. Looking her into the eyes. "You're going to be given a new name. And a new life. You won't be in Trost anymore. You will never have contact with the people here again,"
"What about my friends? And family," her eyes misted.
"I'm sorry, Krista. But this is to keep you safe. You're eighteen and have enough credits to graduate. You will be moved to Utopia, where you will work full time and have an apartment. I have already talked with some agents. You're going to be okay," he comforted her. Rubbing her ba cl as he did.
"Have you heard anything about Eren?" She asked, feeling tears burn her cheeks as she finally released them.
"Not a thing. We are guessing he is in Stohess, so we are letting their department do the investigating. We gave them all of the evidence we had. It'll be in their hands and we can put this all behind us." He showed visible relief.
"I see...." she had the opposite reaction. Fear. "I hope he is okay,"
"I know you do," he replied.
