Sunday passed and Monday rolled along, Eren woke up early and got dressed. His work clothes were all he had, so that's what he wore. His pants were practically falling apart at the seams. His phone was blinking, so he picked it up and checked. He didn't know the number, and all it said was
     "pick me up"
He wondered who it was, then it pinged.
     "Krista"
She must have gotten on his phone and checked what his number was Saturday night. Saturday. That was a good day, he met some one he hadn't seen in a long time. Mikasa Ackerman. What were the odds? Running into someone from that long ago, so far away from where it happened?
     He smiled.
The young man opened the door to his house and closed it behind him, locking it. He bought his shed for a few thousand dollars and got free rent on the small acre of land. He lived just outside of town, with a few neighbors. His landlord was friends with his dad, so he let him get the land with free rent so that he could save money for other things. In short, his landlord was a good man,
He jogged to his truck and took off to Krista's house. Once he got there she was already on her porch waiting. She jogged over to the passenger side and opened the heavy door, grunting when she pulled it closed. She tossed her bag in the floorboard, taking a quick breath.
"Thanks for the ride," she smiled. Moving her hair out of her face.
"No problem," he replied, taking his foot slowly off of the clutch.
     "School," she sighed out sadly.
"Don't like it?" He laughed out.
"No, that's not it, it's just the people,"
"Is someone giving you problems?" He asked, "'cause I'll kick their ass," he proposed
"You might have to because they'll see you're new and go after you," she told him.
"Well I'll kick their asses," he told her flatly.
"These guys are pretty big," her voice had an edge. "They might kick your butt,"
"Are they trained in hand to hand combat?" He asked cockily.
"No, are you?" She asked him back, cockily as well.
"As a mattter of fact missy I am," he replied, shifting gears.
     "You are?" She asked, surprised.
     "Yep,"
The rest of the drive was silent, the hum of the motor being the only noise in the vehicle. He eventually pulled into the high school parking lot. She got out of the truck, thanking him for the ride.
"See you after school?" She asked him, and eyebrow arched.
"You need another ride?" He asked her teasingly.
     "Shut up," she teased back.
"Watch out for Reiner and Bertolt," she warned him before heading into the lobby to sit down.
Eren went to his classes when the bell rang, and the day went by like he had expected his second day would go. His math teacher droned on, so did his science teacher. His computer science played games on her laptop while they did the same. He went to a gas station for lunch.
He decided to sit on the steps of the front of the school and his hot box lunch. The food was okay, he had a burrito, soda, and some chips. He felt genuinly full. The boy sat on the steps and waited for lunch to be over. But then a tall broad shouldered blonde boy walked up with a tall, slim, dark haired boy.
"You're new huh?" Asked the blonde one. Eren stood up.
"As a matter of fact I am," Eren answered, extending his hand to shake it.
"Reiner Braun," he answered, shaking it firmly.
      "Eren Jaeger,"
He shook Bertolt's hand as well.
"Krista told me about you guys," Eren spoke to them.
"Yeah, she's a hot one," Reiner spaced out for a moment.
"Hey man that's not how you look at girls," Eren rose his voice.
"How do you look at them?" Reiner asked.
      "Their character," he answered.
"I'd like to see Krista's character," Reiner laughed out, nudging Bertolt.
They both roared with laughter. Eren got enraged. Sure, he had only known Krista for a few days, but he knew he was a good person. He stormed off, leaving the two laughing junkies on the steps of the school.
School ended and he gave Krista a ride home. She thanked him and got out. Then he went to the grocery store to grab a few things to eat. He called in sick at work, not wanting to work until midnight.
He got a half a gallon of milk, chips, the usual things a bachelor gets. He payed for his things and practically tossed them in the back of his truck, gunning it to his house. He sighed, not having company meant the house would be silent. That was a bummer. But oh well.
He got to his house and put the groceries in the mini fridge. The silent house bothered him, all he had to do was think, and he didn't like it. It brought back memories he didn't want to remember. He did want to remember his mother, but not in her last moments. He wouldn't. He wouldn't remember seeing what those bastards did to her.
The boy got up and left his house, his destination was unknown. The pool house maybe? The felt on the tables were amazing, they were perfectly level. That was his decision. The pool house.
He drove up to the pool house. Many people were in there, mostly high schoolers. The only thing was that they legally couldn't sit at the bar. Which Eren didn't care since he wasn't a drinker.
He payed for a game and started one by himself. Around the middle if it, the two guys from earlier thay day were there, and walking his direction. They quickly reached his table.
"Hey we got off on the wrong foot, let's play a game and sort this out," Reiner proposed.
"Why should I?" Eren asked, leaning on his pool cue.
"'Cause I wanna be friends, now come on, I put twenty on the table," Reiner put a twenty on top of the bank of the table.
Eren perked up, he'd drain the perverse bastard. He'll see what Eren Jaeger was made of. That was for sure. He smiled and shook Reiner's hand, pulling a twenty out of his wallet and slapping it over Reiner's twenty dollar bill.
       Three games later...

"You hustlin' son of a bitch!" Reiner chased Eren around the parking lot. The boy he was chasing was waving sixty dollars in his hands tauntingly, laughing.
"I admit it!" Eren yelled behind his back.
Eren turned the corner around a car and stuck his hand out in a ninety degree angle. Reiner ran around it as well, in which Eren clothes lined him. He the ran to his truck and drove off as quickly as possible. He flipped them off on the way off and turned his radio on full blast. He saw them running after him full tilt, but they were still going very slow compared to his truck.
"We'll get you!" He heard Bertolt roar. He laughed again.
Eren went home, not daring leave, knowing that Reiner and Bertolt would be looking for them. So he watched movies and pigged out, occasionally going outside on the porch and drinking a water. But other than that he was inside with the heater on and a blanket over him. Naps were included.
Soon it was Tuesday, and he went to school. The third day was the same as the second, except for lunch, him Mikasa, and Jean went to lunch then ate in the lobby. Jean apparently liked Mikasa, because he flirted with her every chance he got.
The day was over quickly, and Eren went to work, then home, Krista stayed at his house again. The weeks went by, and her and Mikasa stayed over quite a bit. Sometimes at the same time. He didn't know why. But he did realize that Krista was getting gloomier and gloomier. He didn't ask why though.
Tonight was a night where they were both at his house. He waited for sleep to take him, Krista was laying on the other side of the couch, a sad look on her face. He didn't want to bother her since she was about to fall asleep, and Mikasa was playing on her phone reclined with a blanket on her. The TV was off and the house was dark, no moonlight shone through the windows because of the clouds in the sky.
To hell with it, he thought.
"Krista, why are you so sad?" He asked her.
"My parents keep fighting," she sighed out.
"I don't know what to do about that," he answered honestly.
"Sometimes I wish they would get divorced," she sniffled. "It would spare me a lot of problems,"
He sat up and looked at her.
"I understand that part, I thought the same thing about my parents. And now I don't have to worry about them getting divorced anymore," he layed back down.
"How did your mom die?" Mikasa asked abruptly.
He sighed sadly. Not really wanting to relive the thing that had happened merely a few months before.
"That's a story for another time," he told them.
      "Okay," Mikasa replied.
      They all fell asleep.

     Friday...

People needed to understand that Eren was not a pacient person. And it was apparent that people were just starting to understand that as he roared with rage in the parking lot of the school. He was under the hood with a socket wrench size eleven in one hand. And a philips head screw driver in the other.
"Damn it!" He yelled out as he went to the tool box and pulled out a flat head.
Krista stood there awkwardly, scratching the back of her neck. Her back pack was slung over her shoulder. He was her ride, but she might end up having to walk. She saw Eren's butt sticking out from under the hood. She sat on the curb and waited for him to fix it.
"I'll idle it, let's see if that works," he muttered to himself. "Why is it flooding damn it?"
"What do you mean by 'flooding'?" She asked innocently.
He sighed and turned to her.
"It means that too much fuek is going into the pistons and they have trouble firing off,"
She had no idea what he had just said, a dumb look crossed her face. He turned back to under the hood and went back to work, she sat there until he got it close enough to running well that they could get to his house. She stayed another night.

     -------
      2 weeks later

Eren sat in his house on the couch at night, waiting for sleep to take him, but his mind had drifted to one of the girls that were usually hanging put at his house.
Eren had started to have feelings for her. The girl was kind, and at his house often. He didn't love her. Yet. But he certainly cared for her. She was always close to him, always right there. And he hoped she liked him back.
      ---------
Mikasa layed in her bed, her parents were home, so she wasn't going to be able to stay at Eeen's for a while. She liked him. That was for sure. He was kind. He always gave her a lot of rides.
In a way, she envied Krista. She had all the freedom she wanted, she could stay at anyboy' b0house as long as she wanted when she wanted. But then again, her home life wasn't that great. Mikasa's parents got together perfectly fine, but they were strict.
But she didn't understand, she had been having... feelings, towards him. Towards Eren. He was... kind, and handsome, and smart. He helped her with homework, and finances, (she was saving for a car). He was just... there. She had only known him for a few months.
