B A I L E YHazel and Starlet helped me to shine for the prom. Hazel did my make up and Starlet did my hair. Hazel gave me this lightblue and lightpink mix aesthetically on my eyelids. I wanted Hazel to make me feel like I'm myself and no one else. I don't know what made her to give little gold stars on it. "Because you are one." she said. I smiled.
I got Hazel to do something for her like she did to me. She said that she was gonna wear a red strapless dress with a little puff. If she meant a red dress looked like so bloody and velvety then sure, it really was. Only a red dress and red shoes can be enough for a girl like Hazel. When a girl got eyes like chocolate and honey mixed potion and lips like they were made of pink lemonade then they could walk on the world without any diamond or rhinestone.
But, I decided to give my necklace which I wore to my junior dance when I was fifteen. It may seem like giving a bad luck to someone else. It wasn't cause I made this necklace and it made me feel beautiful. And I know that she doesn't feel like one. Why? don't know. I learned that even most attractive people couldn see their reflection like they are made of cinder. And whenever Hazel saw herself; she lost all of her confidence in a beat.
"What's this?" she asked.
"It's my necklace. I made this when I was fifteen."
"What? you made this? it's so fucking pretty! you should wear this!"
"Nah, I thought I won't like someone that much to even give this necklace." I said, "But...I did. You should wear it. It's beautiful."
"I'm...I can't. It's too pretty."
"Hazel, you should."Hazel smiled a little and put around her slender neck. The necklace had a big white diamond with other colorful beads. As a fifteen years old girl, I made a pretty good job at it. The necklace looked like it belonged with Hazel. And I was grateful to have such a friend like her.
"Thank you." Hazel said, "It's too beautiful."
"You look beautiful." I said, "And I hope you feel that, Hazel."Hazel grinned a little but still there was unsureness in her eyes.
"Anyway," she said, "Starlet is getting ready to leave. And...wait a second."
Hazel walked to her cupboard and took out some iridescent box. Which instantly light up her mood.
She turned away and faced me.
"Ready to look at yourself?" she asked me. I didn't know what could be the reason of her asking me cause she showed me the mirror out from the iridescent box and let me see myself.
Myself. A line that decreased my whole happiness. But I couldn't figure out the girl who stared back at me. Golden turns twirled ravishly and her brown eyes looked like they were light of the sun. And her red lips outshined every greatest thing on the history to me. Orange blush surroundered above the pink freckles. The black wings on her lashes made her seem like she's someone out of a teen magazine. A beautiful girl, she was.
