Mimi's POV:

My eyelids fluttered open with the heat of the morning sun on them. The door opened at the exact same time and my father walked in, carrying a duffel bag.

"Good morning, Princess."

"Hi, Papa."

Giving me a small kiss on the forehead, he placed the bag on my bag. Opening it, I noticed that there were new clothes sitting in there, price tags still attached. A plain white shirt and a floral skirt, along with some simple white sneakers.

"Get changed and we can go."

I nodded and went to the bathroom, quickly putting on the clothes before washing my face with cold water. I looked in the mirror to see my flushed cheeks and my wide eyes.

"Today's the day." I squealed, rushing out of the bathroom and straight into my father's back.

"Woah there," he said, spinning around quickly and catching me before I fell.

"Sorry!"

"You ready?"

Nodding enthusiastically, I dangled my camera from my neck before we walked out of the room and towards the entrance. Suddenly, the staff pushed us aside as a stretcher was rushed towards the emergency room. Lying on it was a girl my age with blonde hair but there was blood, too much of it decorating her neck and chest area. Feeling a bit nauseated, I turned the other way until I heard the sound of yelling people die down. Breathing a sigh of relief, I saw Doctor Jeff waiting by the sliding doors.

"Hi!" I exclaimed, running up to him.

He chuckled, giving me a shoulder pat before handing me something that looked like a watch. He wrapped it around my wrist and a number jumped up, presumably my BPM.

"If this changes dramatically at any time, it will let off an alarm and you are to come back. Understand, Mimi?"

"Ok, Doc."

"We'll have a checkup later in the future. You enjoy yourself. "

"Yes, sir!" I said, mock saluting him.

After a few more minutes of talking and him giving me my meds, it was out the doors for me. The polluted wind hit me like a truck and to some, it was disgusting but to me, it was a breath of fresh air. It was chilling, colder than the air that circulated in the hospital. The streets were pretty deserted and leaves were following the breeze like a lost puppy.

"Wow," I said, looking at all the tall buildings in the distance along with the people.

"Come on." my dad urged my 5'4" body to his white SUV.

He began his drive as soon as I was buckled in, starting the journey home.

"How long dad?"

"About 20 minutes."

Nodding, I watched the trees become thicker until there was no building in sight, the red leaves shining like blood. Shaking my head, I took my camera out and began taking pictures of the passing scenery. Not a minute had passed before I saw what looked like a mansion, looming eerily tall and giving a Victorian vibe. In the middle of nowhere, it was almost like it belonged there.

"Do you know whos mansion that is, Papa?"

He followed my finger and shook his head.

"No, but I've heard rumors saying that it was haunted. Don't worry, Princess, we won't be going near there. That would require a whole different road."

I muttered a small 'okay' but my mind automatically thought about how nice that structure would be for pictures.

"Oh well," I whispered.

We finally arrived at my house, one I hadn't seen in almost 12 years.

"I'm home."

Opening the door, the smell of bacon and eggs waited for me. Sitting at the table, my father poured me a glass of orange juice to accompany it.

"And let's not forget..."

He went into the fridge and brought out a piece of chocolate cake, making me sit straight up.

"For breakfast? Is it really okay?"

"Go for it. It's a special day."

I ate the food happily, thanking my dad with my mouth still full. He cringed a bit but laughed before patting my head.

"I'm going to head to work for a bit kiddo. Will you be okay by yourself?"

"I'm not a child anymore, Papa."

"I know that. Well then, I'll be going. Don't forget to say hi to your mom."

He grabbed his briefcase and headed out the door, leaving the house to me. I finished my food and washed the dishes before heading to the living room. On the table in the corner sat a picture of my mom with a candle in front of it, plus a pack of Oreos since that was her favorite snack.

"Hi, Mama."

I sat in front of it, touching the edge of the frame with the tip of my finger.

"Can you believe it? I'm out of that stupid place. I wish you were here now, I bet you would have told the doctors something along the lines of how 'awesome' I am. I know you're watching from Heaven."

Placing a kiss on two of my fingers, I touched her pictured cheek.

"Love you."

Standing up and patting away the invisible lint on my skirt, I looked out the window and noticed a small park nearby. Deciding to head to it, I pulled my black hair into a loose ponytail before grabbing my wallet and my keys. Walking there didn't take long and there were only two children with their parents, playing on the playground. I sat on one of the benches and secretly took pictures of them, not to sound like a creep. Suddenly, I heard the sound of a woman that sounded like she was in pain behind me. Standing up quickly, I rushed to the sound and saw blue hair peeking out from behind a tree.

"Ma'am, are you o-"

Walking forward was a mistake because in front of her stood a male, both of them half-naked. I squealed before closing my eyes and bowing multiple times.

"I-I am so sorry!"

Running away quickly with a blush on my face, I failed to notice that the males cat-like green eyes were following my back, a slow grin setting on his face.
