Mimi's POV:

I stared at the picture in front of me in awe. The way the person took this showed how much skill they had. Nothing seemed like it wasn't supposed to be there, the trees surrounding the subject along with the angle they had taken it from. The subject was a girl with shoulder-length pink hair and her bright green eyes were smiling as much as her mouth was, the light shining on her like she was an angel. This photo screamed happiness, something I could never truly achieve.

"What's so fun about staring at a photo for 15 minutes, Princess?" my dad whined.

"Don't be like that, Papa. Can't you see how happy this girl is?"

"Sure she's happy but does it take that long to admire?"

"Yes, this person did it perfectly."

He sighed before going to sit on one of the benches.

"Call me when you're done."

I nodded before heading to the room next door, dedicated to a monochrome theme. I was looking at a picture of a fox playing in the snow when I heard laughter come from my shoulder. My eyes widened at the familiarity of it and turning my head over my left shoulder, I noticed that I was the only one in the space. Breathing a sigh of relief, I turned back around to admire the picture again. Only this time, someone was suddenly on my right and blew a breath of cold air on my exposed neck. Squeaking, I jumped away from the said person, covering my neck with my hand. Standing there in all his fedora-wearing glory was the man from last night.

"You," I whispered, tensing.

"Bitch-chan~ What a coincidence to meet you here, fufu."

Something about the way he said 'coincidence' made me realize that it wasn't really a coincidence at all. Examining him in broad daylight, he had shoulder-length red hair and his green eyes were brighter than I had ever seen him. His grin was seductive, yet cold at the same time. On his chin was a beauty mark, which only seemed to add to his attractiveness. He was wearing a white, collared shirt along with a gray vest and with that, a black scarf. Suddenly, my eyes widened in fear as he took a step towards me, making me take a step back. He raised an eyebrow in amusement at my reaction and we continued this little 'game' until my back was against the wall and he stood in front of me.

"Fufu, I wonder what my little bitch-chan will do now~"

Grabbing a lock of my black hair, he brought it up to his nose and inhaled deeply, moaning softly.

"Bitch-chan smells so sweet."

His hands suddenly darted out and grabbed my hands, immobilizing me as he slammed them against the wall. I flinched at the force, knowing it was going to leave bruises. His face made its way to my neck and I felt something wet against it, making me instantly uncomfortable. I began squirming in his grasp as he pulled away, laughing darkly. His green eyes stared me down, making me feel immobilized with how heavy his gaze was. But something in his eyes saddened me, they reminded me of my eyes when I was first admitted to the hospital. Miraculously, I pulled one of my hands from his hold and placed it on his cheek, frowning. It was his turn for his eyes to widen as he looked down curiously.

"What cold eyes you have, sir. I wonder what, or should I say who caused you to become like this."

He tensed, eyes narrowing. He pulled away, his smile instantly vanishing.

"Tch, this isn't fun anymore."

He disappeared into thin air, making my eyes widen in awe. I looked down at my arms and noticed the red imprints of his fingers, indicating that the event that just took place was real and in fact, not a dream. Sighing, I walked back to where I last saw my father and saw him snoozing, his mouth letting out soft snores. Shaking him gently, his eyes snapped open as he looked around.

"Ah, Princess. You finished?"

"Yeah, Papa. I'm starving though."

"I know just the place."

We exited the building and right next door was a family restaurant, the inside of it empty. We were quickly seated and I took a look at the menu, tapping my chin as I thought about what to eat.

"Papa, should I eat a burger or some pasta?"

"Why don't you do your usual coin flip?"

Nodding my head, I brought a coin out from my wallet and flipped it, heads showing.

"Pasta it is."

The waitress took our order and not long after, our food came. I lit up as the creamy sauce hit my tastebuds, holding my cheek as I swayed slightly.

"Is it that good?" my father chuckled.

"Better than anything I had eaten in a while."

He drank his coffee and ate his pancakes, cutting a piece of it and offering it to me. I ate it and gave him a thumbs up. He brought out his phone when the ringer went off, a smile settling on his face.

"Hey, Princess. How does school sound?"

"School?" I asked.

My father had always tried to teach me whatever he could when I was in the hospital, bringing old high school notebooks and letting me read through them.

"Yup. I signed you up for Ryotei Academy-"

"R-Ryotei?!" I screeched.

"What's wrong?"

"That's such a prestigious school, Papa. There's no way I can go there, especially when it's the middle of the school year."

"They accepted your application but I won't force you if you don't want to. But think of this, you can make new friends!"

"Friends....huh."

Not having many friends did make me feel a bit lonely at times but I did fine without them. Thinking of this as an opportunity to experiment on the feeling of being surrounded by people, I nodded.

"Well, if they already accepted me, I guess I'll go."

"That's great, Princess! You start on Monday."

I felt a bit of excitement course through me at the thought of making new female friends but little did I know that I would be making something totally different.
