Dear Diary, this weekend has been TERRIBLE. Lydia has been giving me the silent treatment which is making me super anxious around the house, even more than normal. And I haven't spoken to Ally or Antonio since the 'incident'. Finn has messaged me a couple times but I haven't bothered answering because Ally will probably read it or something. 6:01am.
I've been avoiding my step mom this past week because she makes me feel so uncomfortable when she gives me the silent treatment. My dad doesn't care, so he doesn't say anything about it. My Aunt is coming over today at 12, It's 11:34 right now and to be honest I really don't wanna go downstairs, solely because I know my step mom will be talking with her.
As I here the front door open and a couple greetings being made, I make my way to my littler brother's room. "Hey Alex, what you doing?" I ask, plonking myself down onto his bed. "Playing on my PlayStation." He replies bluntly. I nod and glance around the room, "I'm bored, play a game with me."
He shrugs, "alright," He pauses his game and switches his game discs and hands me a controller. The loading screen for Minecraft pops up on the screen "I missed playing this." I tell my brother. I don't care how old I am, Minecraft will always be a good game.
It's been a couple hours since I started playing Minecraft with Alex, I decided I should probably go downstairs to see my Aunt and her new baby though. I sigh and sit up on my bed, breathing slowly in and out. I have to go downstairs, even if it's just for a couple of minutes.
I finally gather the courage and force myself to go downstairs and into the living room. I see my Aunt sat on the smaller couch, a bag in one hand and baby things in the other as she puts them all into the bag and I take a quick glance at my step mom who is not so discreetly glaring at me from the larger couch whilst rocking the baby gently.
I push down the anxious feeling in my stomach and force a smile onto my face, "Hey Aunty Charlie!" I exclaim, I inwardly cringe at myself and how fake my happy voice sounds. I'm surprised at how well these two buy it. A large, kind smile lights up on her face and she reaches out her free arm and wraps it around me. "Natalia, how are you sweetheart?" Not so great. I'm dying to talk to someone who actually cares about me.
"Yeah I'm good thank you, how are you and everyone?"
We end up catching up a little, which was nice but I could feel holes burning into the side of my head from Lydia shooting me her pathetic death stare. Not too long after my Aunt had to leave so I watched from the door as my step mom went to say goodbye to her at the car.
She comes back inside shortly after and stands in the hallway, yet again glaring at me. "So you only decided to come downstairs once she's about to leave?" She snaps.
I sigh quietly and look down at my feet. "Sorry." That's honestly all I could think of to say, I'm not good with confrontation and especially not when Lydia has been giving me the silent treatment for a whole week. "Sorry isn't good enough Natalia!" she shouts, her voice ringing through the silent house.
I wince as if she had hit me. "What else do you want me to say?" I ask, genuinely confused. Whenever I get told off for something, if I say sorry then I'm told that isn't good enough but if I don't apologise then I'm rude.
"Don't you dare talk to me like that." Lydia scolds. I stand before her in an awkward manner, why does she have to be like this, I'm so sick of it and I'm so tired of feeling like everyone in this damn household hates me. I just want someone, anyone to love me.
"I'm going upstairs now," I mutter, pushing past her and heading upstairs to my bedroom.
I feel so unbelievably alone. I've lost my best friend, and the guy I was interested in. And if I'm realistic about it, I will probably go to school and have no friends, all because Ally will have made everyone turn against me.
