Chapter Four; Grounding and Manifestation

In order to be more aware of yourself, your surroundings and your goals, it is often recommended to meditate. Witches use these techniques to strengthen their magick and visualize their magick in their mind. There are different ways to begin; if you tend to quickly overthink, you might want to try a video on youtube or a podcast, that guides you through a meditation to get a feeling for it. As a few quick tips, you should find a space where you can be peacefully and not be interrupted.

Relax. Many people have the assumption that meditation is about being completely clear in mind. It happened to me, wich only made it worse and I started procrastinating and spiraling. Take deep breaths and concentrate on your breathing. The idea is to reconnect your mind with your body and the world around you. Don't be too hard with yourself and start easy, a five-minute timer or a song from a playlist of yours (preferably just instrumental or without anyone singing). Posture is important, so make sure your spine is erect. Your mind will go crazy, especially when not used to, return back on your breathing. This is the important step, always return to your breathing. If you realize that your mind is beginning to run wild, return to your breathing. I often imagine the waves of the ocean crashing against the beach, a constant, repeating pattern.

Some people recommend counting techniques such as counting till three as you inhale, and till five when exhaling.

If you managed to calm down, you can start visualization if you want to. Feel the ground beneath you and feel golden energy slithering through your body. There is magick flowing through your body, let it breath. Imagine it shining down on your head and the warmth on your skin. If wanted, you can hold your hands in front of your chest, a ball of energy forming. Do what feels right for you.

Not golden energy, but green glitter? Totally okay! Remember that everyone is different, some things work better than others.

Grounding should reconnect you with the earth and your spiritual and physical self. To become better, do it as often as possible, preferably daily. However, if everyday is too much at first, start with a few times a week. You might have heard of this technique, which can be also used when hyperventilating or panic attacks. Count;

Five things you see.
Four things you can feel.
Three things you can hear.
Two things you can smell.
One thing you can taste.

Another technique is manifesting. To quote Wikipedia here "Manifestation is the act of becoming manifest, to become perceptible to the senses." Working towards specific goals often takes time, so visualize and clearly focus on what you want to achieve. Ask the universe for signs, maybe with tarot cards for example. A journal to write in or creating a vision board. Start your day by visualization the good that's about to happen. It's important to remind yourself, why you're doing certain things or why you want to achieve things.
If you got lost on your way, like I sometimes do, do a self care check up. There are hectic times, where you feel anxious. Write down, why you are here. What were your goals or your motivation to begin with and is what you're doing now, helping?
