I open my crystal blue eyes only to remember that it's Christmas yet Thanksgiving at the same time.  You may be wondering how this can be, so let me start over.  It was a cool, November afternoon.  I, as always, was scanning through the T.V. channels looking for something interesting to watch until I came upon a show titled, "Cooking The Best Turkey".  I quickly pressed select and pause at the same time hoping I didn't miss anything good.  I got up, ran to the fridge, and opened the door.  "Umm... mom?  Where's the turkey?" I asked suspiciously.  I closed the fridge door and saw my mom sitting on her recliner staring at her phone dumbfounded.  "Is everything alright?" I asked as she looked up from her phone.  "Thanksgiving is being canceled until Christmas.  All hunters are prohibited from hunting turkeys until then." she answered.  "But why would they do such a thing?" I questioned.  "Because the turkey population has tremendously decreased since last year.  There is not enough turkeys left to provide for everyone that celebrates Thanksgiving.  They predict that the turkey population will be refreshed by Christmas and if it's not, then we have two choices; go without a turkey or to not celebrate Thanksgiving at all." she answered sadly.
