Maxon POV
"AMERICA!" I scream. I see blood on the white walls. It is intoxicating. I'm appalled, I can't believe my beautiful America has to go through this. I grab her arm before my father has another chance to kill her. He leaves, just like that. He leaves the most radiant girl to die in this cold room. Swiftly I grab her waist and carry her to the emergency room. I go to Dr.Alshar. He says I have to wait because America is in surgery. I never knew my father would go through all this to teach me a lesson. But I don't care anymore. From the moment I saw America from the gardens I knew she had to be the one. Sure she was a bit rough on the edges, but she was regal in every way possible. It was a beauty I hadn't encountered through any princess I've seen. She was meant to be Queen. My Queen. Her idea on the Report was shocking, but it made sense. Even I didn't know how the lower cases had to suffer, but America did. She was fit for royalty, not punishment. I too was thinking this same way; removing the castes might lower the poverty rate by 6%. It was going to take a lot of work, but it was worth it for my future country. It was worth it for my America. I knew if I ever became King she would be delighted that I was inspired to follow her ideas. My stomach churned, what if she wasn't alright? She had to be. America was a fighter. She was the annoying Sun; always standing in your way even if you didn't want her to be.
"Prince Maxon." The doctor bowed.
"No need to be so formal. How is Lady America?"
"About that your majesty, there is some terrible news I have to share with you."
"Is she dead?" My head was full of worry.
"No, no. The treatment was a success. It's the aftershock I believe."
I was confused.
"You see your majesty, the accident was so immense, that America is paralyzed."
"Forever?" I asked.
"No, just for some time. Around four months or so."
"I understand."
"Because of this, she will have to be in a wheelchair, and will also need a personal assistant."
"I can take care of her."
"Good. Your majesty, if you wish, you may go see her. Her room is down the hall."
I was so invested into finding America I didn't even thank the doctor. I'll remind myself to give him a raise later.
"America!"
"Maxon." She whispered. I can see the wet bandages on her back, they were soaking with blood.
"I was so worried about you, my dear." She didn't even have the strength to correct me.
"Can you take me back to my room?" She asked.
"Of course." Carefully I lifted her up, and placed her on the comfortable chair.
"Does it fit?"
She nods.
I gently kissed her. "Let's go back home America."
