('19) PROMPT: LEGEND

"So your Mom never told you about The Shadows?" Ryan asks, a surprised look gracing his face. "No, what is it?" Ben asks in confusion. "Who are they is the question you should be asking," Camomile rolls her eyes, clearly annoyed. "Cam! Be nice, he doesn't know," Mag gasps, slightly hitting her arm. This causes Camomile to soften up when she sees the upset look on Mag's face. "They're a type of shifters, like animagi but with something else. They can turn themselves into shadow creatures! No one really knows exactly what they're like but people say they can melt into pure darkness," Ryan goes on to explain with a childlike wonder in his tone. "Why aren't they here anymore?" Ben asks curiously. "They say the King and Queen banished them to earth when they got too power hungry. But my Mom says that can't be true because they could just hide away from us. My Mom thinks they went to earth on their own to feel even more powerful," Ryan rambles on. "I think it's because they're different so they weren't treated the same so they left," Mag chimes in. "Or maybe they just got bored of not being able to cause chaos," Camomile thinks out loud. "Oh, wow. Do you think they'll ever come back?" Ben asks. "They wouldn't even be able to make it through the portal, so no," Camomile answers. Ben lets out a small hum of understanding. Before a new conversation can start the bell rings. With goodbyes shared between them the small group hurries off to their classes.
