The next day, Aiko found herself back in the classroom awaiting Iruka. They were officially going to be put on teams, marking the beginning of their journey as ninja.
The classroom was chaotic at best, with the largest commotion coming from Sasuke's seat, or rather the mass of newly graduated girls surrounding him. Aiko held back her amusement as she watched the girls, Sakura and Ino specifically, arguing over who got to sit next to him. Honestly she pitied the boy.
Naruto jumped onto the desk facing Sasuke, giving him an icy glare that perfectly expressed his annoyance.
Sasuke, never phased by anything, gave his own glare in return. Aiko could practically see the tension between, she could have taken a kunai and sliced it. She narrowed her eyes, prepared to intervene if things got out of hand, only to freeze.
The boy in front of Naruto accidentally bumped him... Send him crashing into Sasuke, lips hitting lips. Aiko inhaled, accidentally sending saliva down the wrong pipe and breaking into a coughing fit that hardly covered her laughter. The boys were to busy gagging to notice, but the attention in the room was split as she never lost her cool like that. Tears freely flowed down her face, sides aching as she continued her laughing. Finally calming down, she saw the rising anger in the girls of the room, and figuratively sweatdropped.
"Good luck Naruto," she murmured, leaning back in her chair. It wasn't even 10am yet and already her day had proved entertaining.
"Everyone take your seats!" Iruka called, finally making his entrance. There was shuffling as all the students sat down.
"Starting today you are all ninja, and here in a few moments you will each be place into three man teams. Each team will be assigned a sensei who's job it will be to teach you all what it takes to be a shinobi." Iruka paused, eyes scanning the many students in the classroom, before a smile graced his features. "I'm proud of each and every one of you. I hope that you all go on to become shinobi that the leaf can be proud of."
After his mini speech, he pulled out a sheet of paper, calling out teams one by one.
"Team 7 will be as follows: Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchiha."
There was a collective groan, specifically from Naruto and the majority of the female shinobi in the room.
"Iruka-sensei, how come an awesome ninja like me has to be placed on the same team as Sasuke?" He asked, standing before Iruka could continue.
A long sigh is heard, before Iruka glares at the blond in annoyance. "Each team is decided by everyone's strengths and weaknesses, Naruto. Sasuke graduated top of his class. You, however, were dead last."
After that, Iruka continued. "Team 8 will be: Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka, and Shino Aburame."
Aiko sighed, letting her head fall onto her desk, "Team 9 will be: Akemi Fujioka, Riichi Kenichi, and Aiko Uzumaki." This caused her head to instantly perk up, and she looked around for her two teammates.
Akemi was a fairly tall girl, with chin length black hair and vibrant violet eyes. Where as Riichi was shorter, nearly every aspect of him white. His skin and hair both being white, with his eyes a very pale yellow color.
The three of them exchanged glances, none of them being particularly familiar with each other, so the exchange was nothing more than their glances.
Iruka continued afterwards, naming Team 10 as Shikamaru, Ino, and Choji. And so on. After everyone had been named, he excused himself after announcing that their team leaders would be there soon. As soon as he made his exit, the silent room once again was filled with the voices of excited genin.
