Kyla Andrews is a math Geek, by choice of course. Being the middle of seven, she realized at a young age that by winning competition was one way of getting attention, and math came easy to her. So she's worked hard for the last sixteen years to be the best when it comes to anything math related.
She ends up getting invited to participate in a national math competition, the winner receiving a full ride to any college in the country. She doesn't need the scholarship, but winning is everything to her. The night before the competition, the neighbor in the hotel room next to her, convinces her to go out with him to relax. He claims she's to uptight, that she doesn't know how to have fun.
After a crazy night of adventures, including party crashing celebrity's, "borrowing" a car, swimming in the ocean, and watching the sun rise, she barely makes it back in time to get some sleep before her competition that starts at four. But when she arrives to the start of the competition, she discovers that her hotel room naighbor, who she thought was there on vacation with his family, as he told her, is actually her main competition.
Jacob "Ace" Fisher, is the only son of a single mother, who makes too much for him to get financial help, and not enough to actually pay for college. He needs this scholarship. The night before the competition he meets his main competitor. A cute girl who cares way too much about winning then anything else. At first he convinced her to go out on a wild night with him as a way of assessing the competition with out her knowing. Maybe even throw her off her game. But he starts to fall for her, and the look on her face when she realizes that the night before wasn't as real as she thought it was, nearly kills him.
