#notshallow is the latest social media trend where you take a photo or video of your self doing a good deed or volunteer work.
Alexis Dalton, who has thousands of followers of various social medias isn't got to let this trend pass her by, so she volunteers at a homeless shelter in am attempt to claim the #notshallow challenge as another one of her may "accomplishments". But after her first day as a volunteer she meets Max Renagade, who calls her out as one of the most shallow people he's ever met. She goes home that night realizing that maybe he's right, but she didn't always use to be this way. When she was younger she loved helping people with her mom. But then her mom died and her dad found it easier to spend money rather than time with her.
Now, Alexis wants Max to help her get back to who she used to be, someone who cared more about helping others opposed to someone who only cares about what others thought.
