Omega 17

(Chapter Seven) The Plan

*Jake surfs over the roadways three days after his conversation with Father Crin. he heads towards the warehouse by the other side of the city. making his way quickly he hovers over the side of the road speeding down it like a blur. taking a few moments he looks over at the endless green sea. the docks are in view in the distance showing several new battleships in dock for repairs. Jake shakes his head and sighs*
"always with the endless wars....can anyone ever get enough..."
*taking his eyes off it he speeds forward past several more shops their signs turned off for the day making them look oddly dead and empty. hurtling past them he comes up upon the warehouse in the distance and his eyes narrow. several people are standing outside by the door*
"what the hell are they doing?..."
*speeding up he makes it to the warehouse and sees Shaoun,Dipper,Ryan and Violetta standing outside Ryan smoking and the other three talking. Jake pulls up short hopping off his board and picking it up. Violetta looks up and her eyes light up and she smiles widely Shaoun bowing in greeting Ryan waving and Dipper simply nodding*
"what are you guys doing outside? Blackwell patrols have been flying all over the place if you guys get spotted this whole damn place is gonna come crashing down around our ears you know"
*Ryan simply chuckles*
"should we tell him?"
*his voice is deep and trying to hide a chuckle. Shaoun smiles and explains*
"Jake have you noticed anything unusual around the warehouse? the shimmering perhaps slightly distorted images?"
*Jake looks around and does indeed notice the warehouse and some space around it look oddly distorted and he frowns*
"are you telling me you made a distortion field?"
*Shaoun simply smiles but shakes his head*
"No we didnt make one...she did"
*he points at Violetta who smiles brightly and holds up her hands. in them crackles electricity but its in quick bursts and flashes purple*
"i um....i can distort large areas for small periods of time....kinda hide em from prying eyes just not powerful Meta-humans like you...that's why it seemed normal to you at first....its part of my powers...."
*she is blushing seemingly proud of herself and Jake cocks an eyebrow but nods*
"that is...certainly handy"
*Jake looks around him seeing the field clearly impressed by the power of it. Violetta blushes deeper and twiddles her fingers a bit*
"well im glad i...i can help..."
*Jake smiles and pats her shoulder. turning to Shaoun Ryan and Dipper he begins telling them everything him and Crin had talked about explaining all of it. once done Ryan rubs his chin thinking deeply speaking carefully*
"i don't know how exactly you plan on pulling it off Jake...getting onto a warship is a feat upon itself but the Dalron? that's nearly impossible...the security on that ship is so tight even the Council has to go thru hell just to board their own ship....not to mention convincing this so called *friend* of Crins will be another feat on itself...."
*Jake considers this and sighs. hating Crin he distrusts the man with a passion but he knows when he lies...and seeing the look in Crins eyes show he was not lying....speaking quickly he expresses his view*
"look i hate the man more then i can ever say but i know when hes lying...he wasn't lying about this he was being genuine....hell of a way for lies to become truth huh?...well we are gonna just have to trust him for this one time"
*Shaoun stifles a snort of laughter and Dipper simply glowers her voice tight*
"I trust the fucking asshole as far as i could throw him....maybe smashing him with my hammer would be better..."
*Jake cocks an eyebrow and shakes his head*
"look as much as i know the rest of you hate him but what other choice do we have?"
*Shaoun steps up*
"Listen Jake even if we could in theory get aboard that ship how in the hell will we keep ourselves hidden? those warships have sensors built in the moment a Meta-human enters those will go off like a Christmas tree"
*Jake goes to argue but then stops and sighs rubbing his head*
"yea i...i suppose that is an issue i..."
*Just then Violetta steps up and smiles*
"look i...i could help....Ive...Ive tested my powers against these sensors they have them in the prison camps to keep track of us....i can block the signal...if um...if you will let me"
*Jake thinks for a moment the others staring at her and he shakes his head and her smile drops*
"I appreciate the offer but Violetta i can't let you put yourself in harms way like that....you should know like i do what they do to escaped Meta-humans....."
*Jake speaks softly trying to make her understand but she shakes her head tears welling in her eyes*
"i don't care! i want to help! they took everything from me and i am tired of hiding and running from them!"
*Shaoun smiles and rubs his head as Jake looks to him for support in this. turning to Ryan and Dipper they give the same smile and Jake sighs rubbing his eyes*
"there's no convincing you otherwise is there?"
*Violetta violently shakes her head and stares at him a look of pure determination. giving in Jake finally nods and she smiles brightly and jumps up fist pumping the air. Jake stops her and looks at her in the eyes directly his silver eyes shining into her violet ones*
"you have to promise one thing first....you have to promise that no matter what you obey my orders to the LETTER no objections....if i tell you to hide you hide if i tell you to run you run...and if i tell you to leave us behind you leave...do you understand?"
*she hesitates her eyes still brimming with tears. she goes to argue but sees the look in Jakes eyes the same fierce determination she saw when she first met him and collapses inside*
"i....ok...ok i agree"
*Jake claps a hand on her shoulder and turns to the others*
"Alright....then its time to make a plan"
*moving to the side of the wall Jake leans on it and looks to the others*
"alright so heres what we know so far: Crins friend is the Commander of the Dalron and he claims can get us on board via transport. once on board we need to start working our way towards the port bay where they store thier Shadow Fighters. once there we need to get the ignition codes from the Officer there and get onboard some of the fighters there is two to a fighter so we are gonna need three of them if all five of us are going. next we need to get the star charts from the navigator so we can plot a course to our destination"
*Shaoun looks up his eyes narrowed*
"And where exactly would that be? you have conveniently left that out"
*Jake hesitates then speaks carefully*
"we are going to Garvon Six"
*Shaoun makes an exclaim of protest and Ryan looks startled. only Dipper doesn't make a reaction and looks at Jake her eyes hard*
"And just how did you plan on getting past the planetary defenses? are you really ready to sacrifice your life for just one girl?"
*Jake looks at her his gaze unfaltering*
"i am"
*she stares back at him meeting his gaze then she smiles and he is slightly taken aback*
"alright....then count me in"
*the others stare at him and Violetta giggles and nods showing she is in too. Shaoun and Ryan look at each other then grin*
"gonna be just like old times isn't it?"
*Jake grins and nods*
"yea...yea it is"
*he looks at all of them and they look back and he nods*
"its not much of a plan...but at least its one....all we  can do now is wait for Crin to contact us....then we set it into motion"
*with that they head inside the warehouse never knowing just how much they will be sacrificing for this mission. for how could they know that the girl they wish to save....will be their greatest enemy*
