(I'm thinking of doing something interesting. Would you readers like to have a peerage? To make it manageable you'd have 2 pawns [4 pieces each] 2 rooks, 1 bishop, one queen [1 piece each] but they would have to be something other than human, including appearance (Demi humans ARE an exception)and CANT BE COVENANT. They members could be from other anime or from games. Small reminder: NO HAREM [Currently debating with myself over this] [Queen and Bishop pieces are spoken for] .)
Master Chief POV [bet you weren't expecting this were ya?]
I was making my way toward the control deck with Major Johnson, a black male with an awesome mustache and a kick ass attitude that stood about average height. The person we wished to speak with is Captain Jacob Keyes, a white Male who stood slightly taller than the Major. I recently returned from an infiltration mission, I was sent to find the coordinates to the Covenant homeworld. Which I did. However between written records and the voices of the Covenant I beat to death, I found out some interesting information.
Keyes will have a plan set into motion shortly after he is aware of our situation. It isnt all bad though, I found something that can end this war as well as the Covenant. The doors to the control deck open slowly as we approached, as we stepped through Captain Keyes turned to us expectantly.
Captain: "Chief, Major. Good to see you both in one piece."
Major: "And you, Captain. Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, our man in green has some important information."
Chief: "I found a few documents telling of the coordinates to the Covenant homeworld. An easy assault if you ask me, but from a few of the aliens I acquired some interesting information. The large chunk of the Covenant Armada that made a retreat in the last skirmish? Its MIA, no transmissions, no SOS signals, not even any debris from the destroyed ships. Either theres mutiny in the ranks or something big is on the horizon Captain, I suggest we capitalize on this opportunity and climb our way to the top of this hill. This group of ships are all we need to do this mission and I'm always at the ready. "
The major just nodded as Keyes looked to be deep in thought. After a few moments he nodded to himself and turned to face Johnson.
Keyes: "Major, this mission will be underway in three hours. Please prepare our weaponry and I will alert the troops." The Major saluted and left to do as he was ordered, Keyes then turned to face me. "Chief. Have Cortana put back into our systems temporarily and have her be ready to jump when the time comes. These Covenant scum die on this day."
I then went to the control console and transferred Cortana over. Immediately after, her familiar static blue hologram projected from it.
Cortana: "Let's get started."
Y/n POV
Troops. We need troops and we need supplies. 'HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO THAT IF WE CANT CONTACT THE PROPHETS?!' Due to my inner conflict I didn't realize when Xana walked in with a worried expression. I was interrupted from my internal shouting match by the sensation of a hand landing on my shoulder softly. I didnt even have to look to know it was Xana.
Y/n: "Greetings Xana, how may I assist you?" This only made her worry more, usually I am happy to see her.
Xana: "What troubles you Y/n? Coming into your tent to hide your troubles does not suit you. Please, allow me to help you, being alone with your problems is not a necessity."
This elicited a sigh to escape from me, looks like I have to tell her.
Y/n: "When i went with the troops to assist our allies, there was an enemy I had hoped to never see again. There was a Firerunner, more specifically there was a Forerunner Knight. I am unaware as to why or how but it was working together with the rogue Fallen Angels. So now we have to worry about a potential knife in our back as well as the rogues, AND the Forerunners. I also have a terrible feeling that more danger is just past the horizon. Then theres the fact that we are on a planet we know hardly anything about."
Xana POV
Sadness. That's all I felt as I gazed at my leader and crush. Worrying just doesnt suit him, but I know he's shouldering more than he used to. The other captains are dead, he leads an army on his own. Yapyap and I arent the previous captains but we can do everything possible to help him.
I cant believe the Forerunners are here too, and he has a bad feeling about more danger? This isnt good, we have enough problems already. Hopefully the Forerunners dont have a sizable force here, that would be troubling.
I walked over to him and embraced him from behind. I know we arent officially together but we've been close for awhile. I just wish he didnt shoulder everything on his own.
*CRASH*
We both ran out of his tent and saw that a few of the Grunts who were moving some crates full of guns had dropped them. They pointed to the sky silently, Y/n and I slowly looked to where they were pointing. What I saw appalled me... then I heard a deep growl come from Y/n.
Y/n: "I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG!!"
What we saw.. was the largest ship from our confrontation with the humans. It just finished doing a warp jump, and it appeared directly over our camp...
A/n: And the plot thickens! What'll happen in the next chapter? Who knows?! Oh, I do. ANYWAY catch ya in the next one.
P.s. sorry for the short chapter
