3rd Person POV

In a control room upon one of the six remaining ships of the Covenant Armada, there lies one soul who still hangs on to life amongst the bodies surrounding him. Throughout his ship many things are heard: explosions, plasma weapon fire, filthy human weapon fire, screams of death from both sides, Covenant soldiers attempting to contact any of the captains. These soldiers are unaware that only one lives amongst the remaining ships.

Fires burn, sparks fly from damaged control consoles, just as these soldiers were losing faith, the one captain begins to stir...

Y/n POV

Ringing. All I could hear was ringing, every part of me ached, my head felt as if it were splitting straight down the middle. I slowly put my hand to my head and shook my head slightly letting me clear my head briefly. Looking around I took in my surroundings, blood, blue, purple, and red all mixed in a horribly beautiful artistic array. Loyal Grunts, Brutes, Jackals and Elites all lay dead around me, filthy humans lay lifeless far too close to my cold-bodied comrades for my liking. I slowly put my arms under me palm facing downward, unable to miss the pool of my comrades blood i push myself to my feet.

As I stood I felt a sudden pain in my shoulder and lower abdomen, bullet wounds from those despicable meat-sacks. The ringing in my ears finally stopped and my eyes widened at the sound of gunshots and explosions, I looked toward the ground and found my energy swords. Equipping them at my hip and lifted my Type-51 carbine. Following the sounds of fighting I ran out of the control room. Activating my communicator I made a call to any and all available soldiers on my ship and I immediately got a response.

Elite: "Captain you live! We feared the humans killed you, are you capable of leading the charge against the invaders on your ship?"

Y/n: "Affirmative soldier, I'm glad I still have comrades out there fighting. I am en route, inform the soldiers you're with and spread the word through your comms. I shall be the inspiration to push on with the fight. These humans will be eliminated shortly."

He gave a short affirmative and before our link ended I heard the cheers of my soldiers, with a smirk upon my face and adrenaline keeping the pain from my wounds to a minimum, I ran with a newfound speed toward my allies.

As I neared the location of my allies I heard a battle cry down a corridor to my left. I instinctively ran toward it and saw Xana, wounded with a marine with his rifle to the back of her head. As she dropped her weapons I crept upon the marine and activated one of my energy swords. When I reached him I swiftly did a clean vertical cut from the top of his head to his nether region, effectively cutting him in half. As the sound of his halves hitting the floor echoed, Xaba looked back at me with wide eyes.

Y/n: "Greetings Xana, I am pleased to see that you still live. I was on my way to our allies, I could use your assistance at the rendezvous point."

Xana: "And it is good to see you as well, I feared the worst when none of the captains responded through their comms. I shall follow you to our allies, it's time to send these humans to their doom."

Y/n: "Agreed, I'm not sure how many of our allies are left but our reinforcements should be arriving soon. It's good that we only got a chunk of the full Armada instead of the entire force, otherwise this would be even more disastrous."

She nodded and we left to the rendezvous point. Once we arrived we saw my troops, they have fortified half the corridor including five rooms. The humans had the same amount of ground on their side, but not for much longer. I raised my carbine and melted the faces off of five humans in quick succession with head shots. The Elite I spoke with previously walked up to me to give a report.

Elite: "Captain, we currently have twenty grunts, six brutes, one hunter, and 7 elites including you, Xana, and myself on this ship. It appears ours has the most hostiles and the other ships should be clear soon and heading this way to assist."

Y/n: "Hm. That is better than I expected, nonetheless we shall clear out these humans before our allies are required to provide assistance. I need you to get me a comment link with the temporary leader on each ship, I will require it after these humans are cleared out."

As he nodded and got to work I walked toward the entryway that stood as the halfway point for the struggle. I hugged the left side of the wall and Xana held the right side with her needlers equipped. I had one of the brutes throw a flash grenade into the room, as soon as it went off the grunts rushed the room as Xana and I left our cover and executed any hostiles the grunts missed. When that was finished I smiled, no casualties in the skirmish.

Soon after my comm was connected to the temporary Elite leaders on the other ship.

Y/n: "Friends, our reinforcements will be arriving shortly, when they arrive we will all warp jump away from this location back to our homeworld. The enemy will surely be bringing the big guns to counter us, we need to regroup and recover. From what I read we still have two ships full of weapons and vehicles as well as tanks. Three transport ships as well, this is good news. Be prepared to jump to the location I send you when I give you the word."

Right as twelve of our ships arrived, eleven transports and one mobile armory, my ship was struck by enemy fire. Giving the word, all ships began their warp jump. We soon appeared over an unfamiliar world, more specifically over a forest. Due to the damage the ship took I sent my troops out through the escape pods leaving me on the ship, I was about to enter the pod when my ship crashed. I blacked out as the crash occurred, all I could do was hope that we were safe...
