"Okay," Lue hummed aloud as she sat on the floor with her legs crossed. Her task for her first day as manager was to one, keep score and two, watch the players form and see if she could identify what role they play in the team. Lue had no clue about volleyball and Nekomata only gave her the positions of a volleyball team, she had to figure who was what for her self. Her eyes moved over to Yaku just as he ran across the court to keep the ball off the ground. Her eyes lit up seeing how determined he looked.

"Sorry it's short!" He shouted hoping back into his feet. Libero. She smiled, he was an easy one because he told her himself what he played. "Kenma! Over here!" Inouka waved his hand in the air running toward the net. Wing spiker and setter? She hummed making notes next to each boys names, thankfully she was introduced to everyone before the practice match started. A loud smack had her eyes bounce away from the notebook in her lap. It was like slow motion, she saw Kuroo and Lev falling from the sky after perfectly blocking Inouka's hit. "Yaku!" Yamamoto called out.

Yaku swiftly skid across the floor sideways, his forearm connecting with the round ball and sending it back up. "I got this!" Yamamoto sneered running to the net. Lue watched intently, another wing spiker— ace! She watched how he slammed the ball across Kuroo with amazement. She was sure he was going to signify match point-

"Oh no you don't!" Lev shouted thrusting his arm out to receive it.

Lue blinked, and in that small fraction of a second, the ball Lev was supposed to be sending back up had made a b-line for her face. She quickly lifted the notebook to cover her face, somewhat of a shield from the flying sphere. Lue hesitantly opened her shut eyes after not feeling any impact. She moved the notebook down and saw the sphere roll past her slowly. "Hmm?" Lue's dark orbs moved up to see a body crouched in front of her. "I'm so sorry!" Lev bowed deeply.

"Lev..." Yaku grumbled like an angry adult standing up. "IT WAS GOING TO BE OUT!!" Yaku suddenly shouted with his hands twitching in air. "I'm sorry!!" Lev repeated bowing over and over, starting to look like a blur. A hand was held out in front of Lue's view, she looked over to see a smiling Yamamoto. "Sorry about that, guess I hit the ball a little more to the left than I thought." He said nervously. Lue shook her head smiling and took his hand, noting how much bigger it is than hers. "It's okay, honest." She beamed at the taller male, making him blush lightly. "I thought you were sure to make a point! No wonder you're the ace!" She said cheerfully with closed eyes and a wide smile.

"Ack—"

Lue opened her eyes confused when she felt his hand leaving hers. She saw Yamamoto covering his eyes with his arm, attempting to cover up his waterworks. "You're so bright Lue! It's like looking into the sun!" He whined loudly. She moved her head to the side and gave him a soft smile, not sure how to respond. Her ears picked up on the sound of shouting and apologizing, making her focus on the libero who practically saved her from a nosebleed. Her feet brought her closer to the two, her hand reached out and lightly tapped Yaku on the shoulder. She smiled seeing his brown eyes locking onto her.

"Thank you Yaku," Her words were gentle, instantly making the third year flustered. Nervously he brought his hand behind his head and scratched. "N-No worries! It's my job as libero to have everyone's back, including yours!" He said with a small blush, adverting his eyes away from her sweet stare. He froze when she grabbed his free hand. "Well then, thank you for having my back and treating me like one of the team already!" Her brown hair shifted from her back to over her shoulder a little, giving Yaku the full length of her hair. For some reason seeing it reach her collar bone made his heart race slightly. "Y-Yeah.." He mumbled looking down at her hands holding his, perfect fit. He snapped out of it when she released him.

"I'll let you finish your match then!" She gave him another warm smile before going back to her notebook. This time instead of sitting back on the floor she leaned against the wall. Yaku didn't realize just how much he was staring at her until a familiar bed head stood in front of him with his winning smirk. "Enjoying the sights?" He hummed teasingly. Yaku's eyebrows knitted as he clicked his tongue. "I have no idea what you're going on about." He went around the male, "Go back to your side of the net." Yaku sent him a glare before looking away again. He felt his face heating up with each step back onto the court. He was trying to shake the image of Lue on the wall out of his head, but it wasn't working.

During the last few minutes of their three on three match all Yaku could think about was how Lue's gym shirt was a v-neck, how it showed just enough of her smooth skin and collar bone. How her gym shorts were mid thigh and were a little on the hugging side. His eyes snapped to the left when he heard Coach Naoi blowing the whistle. He kept quiet as they all walked over to their benches. Yaku took the towel from the wooden bench and dabbed his face. "How was that last spike Lue!" Yamamoto and Inouka surrounded the manager. Yaku watched closely. "It was really great! But I don't think you should take my word for it," She sheepishly giggled. Yaku saw how Yamamoto fawned over the girls giggle, but he wasn't one to judge. The same giggle made Yaku's chest tighten ever so slightly, even made him want to out right smile like a goof.

"Do you think she'll be a good fit?" Kai's voice pulled the libero out of his almost out burst. "Hm?" He glanced at his friend while picking up his water bottle. "Lue? She seems like a good fit," Kai nodded smiling at the girl. "Oh, yeah, I think so too.." Yaku said softly looking back at the girl who was now laughing along with Kuroo. Kai noticed how his smaller friend was during practice, how often the libero would watch the girl. "Hey Yaku," He spoke up. "Yep?" Said libero adverted his gaze to his friend. "You should walk her home." Kai smiled kindly as his friends face paled. "Huh?!"

Lue was genuinely happy. The group of boys took her in as their own within seconds after meeting her. She never thought she would enjoy being apart of a group again. Her almost black orbs glanced at Inouka as a silent thank you for having her do this. "Want something Loo?" Kuroo smiled at the girl as they stopped in front of the convenient store. "Oh no I'm alright," She shook her head. "Why is everyone calling you that now, it's my nickname for you." Inouka sulked next to her. "I don't mind." She smiled as some other team members entered the store. Suddenly she felt an arm wrap around her arm and pull, her eyes catching sight of a blonde mohawk. "It's a cute nickname for a cute girl!" Yamamoto cheered hugging Lue, Inouka rolled his eye smiling.

"You really think highly of yourself huh?" Yaku's voice broke the conversation as the stores door opened. "Yeah! I'm going to be the next ace!" Lev beamed staring down at Kenma, only receiving a small groan back. "You want to compete with me?!" Yamamoto glared and walked closer to the tall first year. Kuroo smirking behind him. Lue stood there, smiling like a goof as the whole team started to laugh. This was nice, this was really nice.

As she smiled with bright cheeks, someone was staring at just her. A dazed look in their eyes and matching cheeks.

Yeup.

Yaku was now fully aware that he had formed a crush on the girl he just came to know existed.
