"I hate that about guys. At least girls have the decency to be fake and pretend everything's okay when shit gets weird. Whenever guys get upset, they get all angry and scary"
― Lauren Barnholdt, The Thing About the Truth

The only problem with waking up at the moment was because I didn't want to wake up. Staying curled up on my side hiding from my problems was a much better reason to stay asleep. Though I'm sure room service will come knocking on my door, forcing me to stand up and walk to all those inconveniences.

Luckily for me, as I turn underneath the covers the side clock flashes 4:45 in the morning which means that I'll get another three hours in a peaceful slumber. As I begin to realise my surroundings, thoughts of that dreadful Captain came flowing through my mind.

Frowning unconsciously I sit up on the bed, crossing my legs tightly. I feel dirty. Although my makeup was taken off last night, I can't help but feel like a mess. The hand prints from the captain don't remain any longer, not a scratch or bruise. You wouldn't even know if anything happened last night, unless you watched the dramatised scene we caused as he fled the ballroom with me in tow.

I will be honest though, I would like to see Liam again and apologise for his...brothers... attitude even though I'm sure he's used to all the conspicuous opinions.

At the thought of the both brothers my mind continues to waver at the words 'no longer.' Something must of happened for the Captain to loose his cool, I suppose it was only in the heat of the moment. When he said that, Liam looked frightening with his bitter smile and eyes widening with the words 'jeopardy' screaming through them.

There wasn't much I could do about the situation except watch the men execute each other with just one stare. The tension was thick and unnerving, I wasn't too keen on staying any longer but I had no clue on where to go so I stayed put.

I begin to slide off the side of the bed and glance one more time at the side clock. Just past 5 o'clock now. My restlessness was too much to bear so of course I wouldn't be put to sleep this easy. Running another shower I step in, it's much less cooler now so I'm not scalding my skin again.

Deciding to just stand underneath the water, I do so, enjoying these last few seconds of pure bliss before having to remove myself unwillingly. Humming a tune to myself I begin to get out and an instant rush of ice cold air hits my bare skin, goose bumps rising with the hairs on my arms. Internally groaning at this unwanted feeling I slip back into my room and slip on some clothing.

My mind continues to flicker back and forth at the want to see Liam. He is now my friend so I feel as if it is my need not want to make sure he's alright. Deciding that enough was enough, I click my door open an inch. To my surprise the hall is empty with dim lights so you could just see your own palm. Stepping out I wander down the halls past every room until I push a door open  that leads back out onto the top of the ship.

I continue to wander aboard the wooden paths until I'm sure I went in a circle thrice. The sun is now coming up, first light, and I still haven't managed to find him. Gripping my hair in my hands I continue my search until finally, finally I have lost all hope for this man. "Xena?" a questioning voice sounds behind me and I foolishly turn hoping to see him. As soon as I see who it is my face falls.

"Hello Carmen, what a surprise to see you here" laughing uncomfortably I continue to gaze everywhere except her questioning eyes.

"Xena, I work on this ship. I have to be up and ready to work by six-thirty in the morning" silence follows because we both know I'm hiding something.

Sighing heavily I finally look at her "I'm actually trying to find Liam. Do you by any chance know where his room is?" she smirks devilishly, "as a matter of fact I do."

As she guides me through an opposite hallway to my own, our light foot steps are the only thing that can be heard. Passing door by door my anxiety begins to rise thoroughly through the roof until it's almost suffocating.  "Here we are" she exclaims stepping to the side of a unit door, raising my brow at her she grins handing me a key and begins to shuffle down the hall at a smooth pace.

Taking a deep breath I knock, no answer in return. I begin to push in the key and look through the crack in the door. The side lights are on but no one is around so I let myself enter. I'm sure he won't mind if I have a seat.

The faint sound of shower water explains his absence so all I do is wait. Soon I feel the need to stand up, stretch, maybe even leave. Although I came to see if he's alright I'm sure I'll see him later on today, somewhere.

The soft padding of footsteps halt and a breath can be heard sucking in painfully. Swivelling my head towards the sound I become almost face to face with the male himself. The male I spent almost two hours of my precious time looking for, only to apologise for his brothers attitude. Now that I have thoughts on that subject, it seems like a useless reason to find him.

"Hello Liam" I say professionally, for what reason I don't know. "What are you doing here?" he whispers skipping right to the point.

"What, no hello?" I ask, sounding like a baddie. He frowns slightly at my demanding question, "hello Xena, now answer my question. What are you doing here."

"I came here to apologise for leaving so soon last night. Your brother had no right to drag me away so all I come here asking is if you're okay" "I'm fine" he grits out storming past me to grab some clothes. I now notice he only has a towel wrapped around himself.

As soon as he finishes getting changed with myself looking away, as much as I hate to admit. I really wanted to turn around and look. "Are you sure? I mean you don-" I can't finish before he growls out again "I'm fine, I already told you."

What is his problem, all I wanted to know was if he was okay and instead he's pouncing on me like some kind of ravaged animal. Standing up I make my way towards him, "Liam I know something's wrong, tell me please" I don't plead often, but something was nagging me to do it.

As soon as I touch his arm he tenses which only makes me turn him around to face me. "Look at me" he doesn't, so I guide my fingers underneath his chin and pull his face to look me in the eyes. He looks broken, disappointed, angry and it only fuels me to ask one more time.

"Liam answer me honestly. What. Is. Wrong" I don't mean to sound as demanding as I do now. As soon as the words leave my lips, he rips his face from my touch and shoves me harshly out of the room, slamming the door right in front of my face

My mouth is hanging open. What just happened? We were fine last night, what was wrong?
