"icy but i'm on fire, a dream inside me, i'm confident look at me, i'm not a liar i don't want to be put in your box"
- icy ; itzy
minho threw his glass bottle against the wall, making it shatter into pieces. jisung turned around at the loud noise and frowned. he knew that minho was upset but he had to calm down. "minho, calm down." he said before getting back to cooking dinner for both of them.
minho rolled his eyes before grabbing his racquet and a few balls and slipped on his sneakers. "i'm going out. don't bother making dinner." minho growled before violently slamming the door, signalling that he had left. "but i already made you your dinner!" jisung yelled, but was greeted by silence.
thwack.
thwack.
thwack.
thwack.
thwack.
the ball hit the wall continuously without stopping for a second. minho was already sweating, but he continued to grip his racquet tightly as the ball headed for him again. this was minho's way of releasing anger. he wanted revenge. he knew that it wasn't right, and that hyejin had won the place fair and square, but then again, this was minho. he would get his title back. and he wouldn't stop until he did.
"jeongin, i'm so sorry." hyejin said to him as soon as he stepped inside the room. he had gone outside to play basketball to have some time alone. he looked at the girl, surprised. "what are you sorry for?" hyejin looked down sheepishly. "i saw what happened with minho. i'm really really sorry. it was wrong of him to do that." she muttered but jeongin only laughed.
"it's not your fault. you don't need to be sorry. besides, we should celebrate you being captain!" he tried to cheer up, but anyone could see the pain in his eyes. hyejin felt so bad. she had seen that watch in a shop on her way here, and it had cost a lot of money. so she took the matter into her own hands.
jeongin woke up the next morning still feeling glum from the eventful day yesterday. he yawned and slipped on his slippers and headed to the kitchen. "hyejin?" he mumbled. but no one answered. he rubbed his eyes and looked around. she wasn't there. he frowned and retraced his steps back to her bed. she wasn't there. her blankets and her pillow was neatly folded on the bed. maybe she went for a morning jog. jeongin assumed and shrugged the matter off.
he had a lecture in 1 hour, and he needed to get ready. he was unsure of hyejin's timetable, but he prayed that she wouldn't get lost.
hyejin was fine. in fact, she was more than fine. she felt happy. she also didn't miss any classes. her first class started at night, and she knew jeongin's timetable. he had afterall, hung it up beside his bed. she hoped she could get back to their room in time, before jeongin came back from his lectures.
jeongin was tired. he had 6 lectures in a row, from morning to evening. but thankfully, that was the last one for today. first days were always tiring. he got the key out of his pocket and slid it in the keyhole. the door opened with a click and he slid the key back in his pocket. he entered and looked around. nothing had changed. hyejin still wasn't here. maybe she had classes at night. but one thing did change. an envelope on his bed.
he curiously walked towards his bed and grabbed it. it had a messy smiley face drawn on it. curiosity got the better of him. he opened it and his mouth dropped open. he hurriedly took the money out and counted it.
....
10000 won.
who and why had put this ridiculous amount of money on his bed? then he remembered. this was the cost of the watch that he had brought minho. could he have? no, it wasn't possible. sunwoo didn't have the key. also, minho wasn't the kind of person to do that. not anymore...no. then that only left one person.
saying the lecture was boring was understandable. but for hyejin, it was absolute hell. she hated law. the only reason why she was here was that she had promised her parents that she would take it.
she regretted it so much. she glanced at her wristwatch again, for the tenth time that minute and much to her delight, it ticked to 8 pm. "alright, remember to hand in your essay.." the teacher drawled but hyejin didn't pay any attention. she stuffed all her stuff in her bag and ran down the stairs and zoomed out.
(warning for the next part. if you are not comfortable violence please skip the italics part.)
but her delight and freedom was cut short. a hand seized her wrist and dragged her into an abandoned room. she was about protest and get her wrist free but that other person had their grip way too tight. "let me go you asshole!" she yelled and finally yanked her hand free. then her eyes widened. "who are you? why did you do that?"
the person just glared daggers at her before walking closer to her. hyejin, being uncomfortable backed away from him. until her back hit the wall. he stood there, and even hyejin, who normally wasn't intimidated, felt a bit scared.
"i hate you." he snarled before raising his hand and did the unthinkable. he slapped her. hyejin was furious. who on earth would slap her girl? a boy, slapping a girl! for no reason at all.
"what the fuck-" she spat before he kicked her in the stomach. her eyes widened in pain and she immediately pushed him away before running away from him. but he grabbed her again and pushed her onto the ground, making her smack her head onto the ground. "what are you doing!" she whimpered now very afraid.
the boy didn't say anything instead raised his hand again and brought it down on the poor girl's cheek again. she cried out for help, but it went unheard. the boy raised his hand again but a loud bang from the door stopped him.
(violent part over)
"what the fuck-hyejin!" jeongin was visible from the door, looking furious. and jeongin was never mad. when he saw the boy's raised hand near the poor girl's cheek he got extremely pissed. "how could you,"
"minho??"
and then poor hyejin fainted.
+our maknae is all grown up :3
