Sorry for the wait! I've had a bunch of things to figure out story-wise. That and life just be crazy sometimes. This chapter is still pretty rough but I wanted to give you guys something, so... enjoy! I'll edit it later.

A cool mist filled the gorge, glistening silver in the sunlight.

"Okay, so, first, Happy and Carla'll take Wendy and me. Then I guess one of them can come back for you?" Natsu had to shout to be heard over the roar of the waterfall. He looked to the Black Death, waiting for their response.

The two exceeds exchanged looks, Neither one of them was fond of the idea of carrying the assassin.

It wasn't like Natsu was thrilled about having to work with the Black Death, either. Especially so soon after they threatened his life. His heartbeat was still out of control in his chest as he pondered the more favourable option, leaving them at the bottom of the ravine. But he needed to get Wendy to Erza fast. And the Black Death would cut through any obstacles in their way.

"No."

"But, there's no other way out," Wendy said, brown eyes flickering to and from the wyvern's skull, unable to hold its gaze for too long.

Carla nodded. "This ravine is far too large. Even if there were another way out, there's no telling how long it would take to find it."

"Unless you're going to climb or something," Happy said.

The Black Death nodded.

Happy blinked. "What?"

"You can't be serious," Carla said. "It would take far too long even with the proper equipment, which you don't have."

The Black Death turned to her and slowly tilted their head to the side.

"If you won't accept our help. Fine. Stay down here and rot. You'd be doing the world a favour," Carla snapped. "You may not care about the fate of the Fairy Tail wizard nor the looming threat of Nirvana's release, but we do." The sound of chimes filled the air as a set of pure white wings sprouted from her back. She picked up Wendy and, with one last disdainful glance in the assassin's direction, began to ascend. "Come now, tom cat, we've wasted enough time as is."

Happy lingered a moment before following after her, Natsu held securely in his paws.

Y/n watched them grow smaller the higher up they got and shook her head. It was foolish of them to turn their backs on her. It was actually almost insulting.

She shook her head.

With a rhythmic five-beat stomp, she was suddenly standing taller as a set of silver spikes erupted from the soles of her boots. They dug into the earth beneath her feet, eliciting a scraping sound as she took a couple of steps forward.

Y/n growled as one of the exceed's white feathers fluttered down and landed in one of the wyvern's empty eye sockets.

A sharp breath had it fluttering out and to the ground.

Her nose twitched as she held back a sneeze, grumbling under her breath. Shaking her head, she turned her attention to the cliff face that loomed over her.

She raised a hand to the rock, and her gauntlets shifted, forming claws at the end of each finger and another row across her palms. She dug her hands into the stone and set to work.

It was not an easy climb. The cliff was steep and offered few footholds, the stone often giving way and crumbling beneath her feet.

Y/n was almost halfway up when both of her feet fell loose. One hand reaching for the next ledge, she found herself swinging down, dangling by an arm some fifty-odd feet above the ground.
