Initially Dakota had headed back in the direction of Melanie's home, but upon seeing a small diner off to his right and reviewing the time from the watch on his wrist, he digressed and slowed, pulling off to the side and into one of the parking spots along the busy street. There, he parked Black Beauty and stepped into the 70's style diner, admiring the neon sign above that read Lori's Diner. There, he picked them a seat among their red leather and sea-foam attire, and they took a deep breath collectively, staring at each other.

"Betcha your Beta would never let you have that much fun," he mused, leaning on his elbows and cocking a brow. God, she was so gorgeous, hair aflame and mussed from the helmet and the wind. She still had a burr or two on her blouse and their hands were still muddy, but he didn't seem to notice: he was too busy lookin' at her flushed freckled face and her burning eyes. He paused, then sat back, giving her a brief once-over. "You, uh.. you okay?"

Allowing the soothing sound of Elvis Presley to swoon in the girl's ears, Melanie's lashes fluttered. The sun was beaming down on her skin through the windowpane making the alphess grow almost sleepy.  Kota's words seemed to bring Melanie back from her spacing. "Bryan?" She asked with a shrug. "He's only tries to look out for me and for the good of the pack." She said softly, coming to the defense of the blonde haired male. Her fingertips drummed on the table as Dakota looked at her suddenly worried. "Im fine-" She began to insist as she was interrupted. "Welcome to Lori's, may I take your order today handsome?" A perky voice interrupted her words and Melanie's attention was immediately diverted.

The sight of a tall, tanned blonde nearly made her nose wrinkle. Her brows furrowed noticing how the young woman only spoke to Dakota. A growl left her inner wolf at once, the beasts fur rising as she coyly fluttered eyelashes at the man. "We don't get new faces here very often." The waitress began to say, leaning in close as her bright blue pools locked in Kota's face. Anger was growing within Melanie's stomach, jealousy spewing throughout her like a poisonous tide. Her nose wrinkled and Melanie suddenly snapped. "I can see why by the way you treat your customers husbands!" The girl's head wrenched back in surprise, a bit of annoyance darkening in her eyes. Her mouth parting to say something only for Melanie to beat her to it. "We want two chocolate milkshakes, two cheeseburgers and that's it. Now get going before I tell your manager what you were doing!" Red was spreading across the waitresses face, as Melanie's eyes came to rest on her nametag. "Got it Ashley?"

Now that, Dakota hadn't expected, the last word sending a bolt of shock straight through his chest and into his belly. Thatcher's head wrenched around and he peered at her, almost as abash as poor Ashley, who withdrew herself and quickly scribbled down their order, leaving the pair in silence. He was stunned, lips slightly parted and an incredulous smile painted upon his scruffy maw. His eyes narrowed an inch or two, his cocking his head to the side. Had she really just said that? Was she... jealous? Dakota leaning forward and then gave her a once-over, paired with an arched raven brow. "You, uh..." he trailed off, then smiled wider, unable to contain the joy he felt at the very idea, his wolf listening intently with its ears perked and tail wagging. Blinking, he finally tore his gaze away and cleared his throat, feeling like a lovesick pup. "Well, thanks for getting her off my back, Red, but I don't remember us takin' any vows."

A satisfied huff left Melanie's wolf as the girl rolled away rather quickly with her tail between her legs. Serves her right. The beast growled softly as they glared after her with fire in their jade pools. It was when Dakota cleared his throat, they jerked their cranium back to study the male. Her nose wrinkled and suddenly heat rose in her cheeks. Embarrassment now shining throw the alphess as his voice broke. Melanie winced despite herself as he struggled with the redheads words. Her choice to let her jealousy override now making a groan escape her. This was bad. This was really bad.
