The howling winds pierce my skin.
My shadows and monsters grin.
I watch my reflection in between white flashes.
My mind crashes.
Pray for me.
He's coming for me.
I see myself at my darkest hour.
Treated like a dying flower.
The scars I bare,
Shine brightest here,
In the dead of night,
Where there is no light.
A tribute to my shadows.
A victory to my monsters.
Darkness engulfs me like a deadly virus,
Sitting in a deceitful silence,
When no one is here to see me cry.
My shadows and monsters are nearby,
When no one is here to hear me scream.
My body drowns in a dream.
Surrounded by darkness,
I've become heartless.
Halsey once said,
"You shouldn't trust the moon,
She's always changing."
I'm standing in a world,
Where love is all synthetic
People are all generic.
Brought up to never challenge authority,
Even when treated like a minority,
I've always spoke my mind.
Not knowing what I'd find.
Women like us, they were scorched,
Called witches and perched.
We are the great-granddaughters of the witches they could not burn.
I see myself rising from the ashes,
With tears in my lashes.
My response to Halsey would be,
"Birds of a feather, burn together."
