Brooks
Earlier that year"Honey, may we have a word with you," I hear my mother call from down the hallway. "It's about school."
My heart skipped a beat as I jump off of my bed and make my way to the kitchen. Somthing has to be wrong, she usually doesn't have to talk to me about this."Coming mum." I reply so she doesn't try to yell at me again to get me to come. I yawn and put my phone in my back pocket as I reach the kitchen.
"Okay daughter, I know you're at this age where you are starting to get attention to the other sex," Mum starts and I role my eyes, typical hetero normative society. "And I want you to focus on your school work instead of trying to impress some boy."
Okay, what is she getting to, home schooling? "So you're going to home school me?" I furrow my brows in confusion, she just laughs at my reaction.
"No, no, we both know I'm not smart enough for that." She says completely truthfully. "That's why I'm going to send you to an all girls private high school instead!" She emphasised the private.
My face is over ridden with shock, I look away trying to wash off the suprised look, "A what?" I say cautiously, she couldn't have just said that. This is not happening.
"I said and all girls school," She said confused then looks at my brother Alec, "I did say that, didn't I?"
"Yes mum, you did." He said in a bored voice, then walks off to the computer to ignore everyone again.
"Oh, okay," I don't really know what to do, she doesn't know anything, she really didn't think this through at all. "Well I better start getting everything ready then."
"Yes that would be a good idea, considering you start in a week." mum says smiling, then she turns to leave the kitchen.
I, am, doomed.

Present date
Who thought is was a good idea to send me to an all girls school? Oh wait, that's right, my mother who is super christian. If only she knew.
I close my locker door and walk to me next class. Alice is at the back of the class sitting next to Lucy. I give a small smile as I sit up front.
I may be a bitchy 'mean girl' but I still need good grades. My mother would kill me if I where to get anything below a B+ in any test or grade.
She wants me to be a veterinarian, which is hard to do. I mean I don't mind, I love animals. The problem is it's harder to become a vet than a doctor.
I look up at the teacher who had just entered the room. Ms Lee, probably the prettiest teacher ever, I'd say she's about 25. Black straight hair, tanned skin and deep hazel eyes.
Yup, it's worth doing biology if I get to see her pretty face everyday. I shake my head when I realise I'm staring.
I look around and see no one noticed. I sigh and let my brunette hair fall in front of my face trying to hide my slight blush.
The door opens once again I peak through my hair and she a frantic girl staring back at me.
"I'm sorry I'm late, I had to walk today and-"Ms Lee cut her off.
"Okay okay," She rolled her eyes, "Go sit down, just try not to do it again"
I look closer at the girl, disguising it as a glare.
I've seen her around before, she has curly black hair tied back in a very poofy ponytail and dark skin. Obviously too dark to just be a tan.
I'm not going to lie, she is kinda cute.
She also has glasses so she is either too poor to get contacts or she is just a nerd, the opposite of popular. She is the type of person I'd tease for no reason, so there is no way she is sitting next to me.
I stop myself from staring, and turn to glare at the table next to me. One of the girls that are semi popular stand up and sit next to me to let the cute girl sit down, away from me.
As the girl nerd girl walks to the now free seat I notice she is wearing boots instead of plain school shoes. I furrow my brows and sigh.
I give the semi popular girl a small smile then focus on my work for the rest of the lesson.
.........
I walk straight in the door, my brother Alec not too far behind me. He always picks me up, from school on his way back from work.
I 'study' in the school library until 4 most days anyway. Really I'm just playing around and annoying the librarian. I only study at home so I don't ruin my reputation.
"Hello children, how were your days?" Mother asks me as we sit down in the lounge room.
"It was quite nice." I answer like I always do.
"I earned money." Alec says and walk off to his room. I grab my book out of my bag and start reading and mum turns on the TV straight to the news channel.
"It is the beginning of pride month, and everywhere is celebrating." says the news lady. I look up at the TV. Only to see people dressed in rainbow and marching down a street waving signs saying "god loves everyone" and "I can't even think straight".
I chuckle and mum dart her eyes to me in a glare. "Sorry, I just don't get why they would want to show this off." I lie then look back to the TV.
"Those humans are feral, claiming to be the opposite sex and kissing the same sex. That is not how god created us." I hear my Mother say, but I don't really take notice and listen to the TV.
"We are so lucky this year to have a new town celebrating later in the month." The news lady says.
A small smile crawls into my lips, "And that town is Burnsley." My eyes shoot open, that is the town right next to ours, less then an hours drive.
"Seriously?" Mother said, "That is desgusting, you will be staying well away from there okay?"
"Yes mum." I say in a fake desgusted voice. I am so sneaking off to that at the end of the month.
