Society Survivor by Danielle Villa

You feel alone, and
Unlike the rest.
You feel that you're
Constantly judged,
For the way you act or dressed.

Their words linger in your mind,
From your feelings,
They are blind.
They don't see the cuts
That their words left,
As they sliced open a new wound,
Again.

It keeps going on,
You need it to stop.
And they're getting to your head.
You spend every night and day
On your bed;
Crying and screaming
Till your pillow gives way.
You don't go to school in fear of the day.

You cry your eyes red,
And the words that they've said,
Are stuck on replay
In your head.

You want to give up.
Your mind can't take it no more.
You're heart was broken,
Beat down to the core.
You dream of a day where
You were once
Happy, like before.

Alas, you say.
It's just a dream.
It will never, ever be the same.
From now, for
Forever on,
That old joyous girl is gone.

No, please, don't say that.
I know that's not true.
There is no 'old you'
That girl is still you.
She lurks there in the
Back of your mind.
Somewhere, she's in there
She's there for you to find.

Now, please, don't give up.
Out there there's someone who loves you,
Or whom you love.
There's that voice inside you,
A little light called Hope.
That voice is still there,
Don't you let it go,
Let it be the candle
You light in the cold.

Call upon an angel.
Because someone will be there.
You are not alone,
Someone out there is
Willing to care.

Just please, hold on,
Do not give way.
The Lord gave you life
And a life you must live.
And along with a life,
A potential He gives.

That potential is yours.
Don't let it free.
But do me a favour and listen to me.
You are beautiful.
I don't care what you say.
You will go out there,
And live on your day.

Life goes on,
So don't give up.
You're not lonely,
Just in need of some love.
