In January 2020, Bring Me The Horizon were nominated for another Grammy award and attended the ceremony at Madison Square Gardens in New York... and this time, they won. Oli dedicated the win to Joy saying that she had always believed in his impossible dream since he'd told her about it 6 years earlier. She cried, and the media absolutely loved it.
Four weeks after the awards show, Joy told Oli that his bucket list was soon going to be complete. After a little confusion and a lot of suspense, she announced to him that she was 4 weeks pregnant and Oli cried when Joy told him that he was going to be a Dad.
Joy continued modelling until late April when her baby bump started to show, and then moved permanently to Sheffield. Oli toured Europe during June and July, with Joy going to see a few shows along the way. She didn't follow the entire tour as Oli worried the travelling and crazy routine would be too much stress on her and the baby, but he knew she was well looked after by his Mum, who Joy spent lots of time with. Oli reluctantly toured the USA in August, wanting nothing more than to be at home keeping an eye on his very pregnant wife and precious cargo.
On October 10th, Joy and Oli welcomed a daughter into the world; Skylar-Grace Madison Sykes. Grace after Joy's late mother, and Madison after Madison Square Gardens – the venue of the Grammy's where Oli won his award, the night she was conceived. Oli was a total mess meeting his daughter for the first time and she had him wrapped around her finger from the second he saw her. He was absolutely in love. Behati and Luiz were the first to meet baby Sykes outside of family and were also completely besotted by her. She looked exactly like Joy, with Oli's eyes.
Joy and Oli were offered a huge sum of money for the first photos of baby Skylar-Grace and while they immediately said no, they decided to use the opportunity for good and agreed to a photoshoot on 2 conditions; 1. They got to choose the photographer and 2. They could donate the entire amount to charity. The magazine agreed to the conditions and Oli's brother Tom was enlisted to take the photos, while the money was donated to animal shelters in the UK and USA, who both made Skylar-Grace an honorary member for life.
Joy and Oli spent the rest of the year in Sheffield with their daughter learning about being new parents, and celebrating their first Christmas together as a family.
