A sigh swept past Aphmau's lips as she sat in the grass, dragging a twig through the dirt, a fairly dull expression catching her features as her eyebrows were furrowed with worry.

She mumbled little incoherent thoughts to herself, her anxiety rising the longer Aaron wasn't around. Boarding time was drawing near and what's more is that Aaron went running after someone in a town they didn't know well and a world that wasn't theirs.

She was rather peturbed that after all of this work someone had the nerve to try and steal what they had worked so hard to earn. As if their hard work meant absolutely nothing.

People were crowded around on the docks, slowly being boarded one by one and as for Aphmau, she had decided to sit near the docks since she was waiting for her partner. She caught herself examining the ship they would board and wondering if it would be safe to travel in and then worrying about how long the voyage would be considering all she has heard about voyage in history.

She wasn't thrilled to be seasick for days on end or crammed shoulder to shoulder with people either but she would remind herself who it's for constantly. For Zane.

She smiled, more of a sad smile than anything. "For Zane" She let the words leave her mouth in a quiet breath, then hearing the noise of what sounded like Aaron. Oh what a relief.

Aphmau looked up to see Aaron dragging along a meifwa girl who was bickering to him the whole way. It was definitely the theif, her size and the blackcaped hood tipped Aphmau off fairly well. "Ah hah!" Aphmau chimed. "You caught the theif!" She was visibly relieved by this which for some reason made Aaron give a more nervous expression.

"Hey! I'm not a theif!" The girl retorted which only made Aphmau respond with some thing snarkier. "Oh reeeeally? Then give me back the ticket." She held her hand out, ready to receive, yet all she got w as silence. Surprisingly from both Aaron and this girl.

Aaron sighed. "Give it to me, he took the ticket from her hand suddenly to which the girl hummed with surprise. "Hey! What about the ride!" Aaron turned , hunching forward as he shushed her and said something Aphmau couldn't quite make out.

Whatever Aaron said made the girl react by grumpily crossing her arms but going silent.  He turned back around and smiled at Aphmau but it was definitely nervous which could be read by even a child.

"Aaron, what's going on?" Aphmau asked, concern was present in her tone.
He seemed to stop and almost visibly replay words in his head before speaking. "I want that girl to take my ticket."

Aphmau immediately jerked, unhappy with this revelation. "What!? Are you crazy? Aaron-" There was a yell for last passengers in five minute, making this conversation speed up more.

Aaron took Aphmau's hands into his and lifted them to her chest as he gave her a loving expression but as loving as it was, it was also sad and perhaps worried. "I know...i.....I know but this girl needs to get home to her family...she has no way back and in a world like this I just worry-...well.."

Aphmau listened, her anger and frustration fizzling slowly to pity and ....well sadness at the realization that Aaron was correct in wanting to do this. "I get it....yeah what kind of people would we be if..." She sniffled, beginning to cry mid sentence. She hadn't expected herself to get so emotional yet this whole situation was quite scary.

They sat in silence and Aaron frowned down at her. "I want you to stay here and wait for me." Aphmau looked up at Aaron. "Are you sure there couldn't be another way?" Aaron sighed sadly. "I'm afraid not."

Another called began for last passengers once more. "Aphmau gave Aaron a pleading look. Aaron took his satchel and gave it to Aphmau. "There should be enough money to reside here until I return. Goodbye..." He leaned in and gave her a simple, soft affectionate kiss on her lips. As he leaned away he whispered a still 'I love you' and then just like that he took the girls hand and he headed down the dock quickly, just making it to the ship before it was ready to port.

And then
.
.
Aphmau was on her own.
